Feature Race Nominations Now Open

Addington Raceway is pleased to announce that the nominations for the IRT New Zealand Trotting Cup, Renwick Farm Dominion Trot and Graphite Developments Ltd / Glenys & Philip Kennard Show Day Futurity Series are now open.

The two feature races are the biggest races at Addington Raceway for the year and part of the biggest week in harness racing in Australasia, with the lead up races highly anticipated by many harness racing enthusiasts.

The Graphite Developments Ltd / Glenys & Philip Kennard Show Day Futurity has continued to be a great stepping stone for those talented horses coming through the grades.

Addington’s Racing Industry Manager, Darrin Williams, is expecting a high calibre of horses nominated for all three races.

“With nominations now open we are excited to see which horses are going to be targeting the IRT New Zealand Trotting Cup and the Renwick Farm Dominion Trot. Last year both races were great spectacles, and we look forward to even greater depth this year. The Show Day Futurity has continued to go from strength to strength.”

“Australians are a key feature to any major race and to have some of their top horses come over and compete against the best from New Zealand does make for memorable harness racing. We are expecting renewed interest from the connections of Australian horses for this years IRT NZ Trotting Cup and Renwick Farm Dominion Trot.”

Graphite Developments Ltd / Glenys & Philip Kennard Show Day Futurity Series is for horses which have not won a race before 1 August, that are improving, and going through the grades in the early springtime.

Nominations for all three races are due to close Thursday 8 September 2022.
