Extension of Mobile Start Trial at Addington Raceway - submissions welcome
The trial for 2600m and 1980m mobile starts at Addington Raceway is to be extended until later this month.
The initiative, involving horses filing further back when approaching the mobile arm, started on June 6 this year. The trial had been endorsed by the Stewards, HRNZ, Addington Raceway and the Trainers' and Drivers' Association.
The trial was originally intended to run to July 31. Now it's been decided it will remain in place until Sunday, August 24.
Owners, licence-holders and wider stake-holders are invited to provide feedback on the trial so far. After they have been assessed a decision will be made on whether the change should be adopted permanently.
Submissions must be received by 5.00pm on Monday, August 18 2025, and can be sent to matthew.peden@hrnz.co.nz.
