Early win for Team Teal
Team Teal has struck early at Winton this afternoon.
Today marks the first meeting of the 2022 Teal Pants campaign and in race 2 at Winton Teal Pants ambassador Sam Ottley won with Emma’s Girl, paying $18.90 and $3.60.
It was a close run thing with the Lyndon Bond-trained pacer just getting up in the shadows of the post from Donald Trot.
The victory sees $250 go to the campaign, thanks to $100 contributions from Harness Racing New Zealand, the Winton Harness Racing Club and her individual sponsor, Stevie Golding Harcourts.
This is the fifth year the campaign has run in New Zealand. It’s all about raising funds and awareness for ovarian cancer.
The campaign will go through to March 15, with every win by a female driver at a race meeting in this country between now and then contributing to the cause.
