Ditty honours All Stars' Group One successes

Auckland-based breeder and race night steward Neville Tilsley has penned a poem to mark the achievements of the All Stars training partnership of Mark Purdon and Natalie Rasmussen.
He was on duty at Alexandra Park when the all-conquering combo fronted up with their last runners before taking a break from the sport on New Year's Eve.
And to mark the occasion he wrote a ditty using the names of some of their Group One winners over the years.

All Stars - Au Revoir

by Neville Tilsley

Mark, when Natalie sailed into your life she must have seemed like some sort of SUPERSONIC MISS or a GOLDEN GODDESS perhaps? Or maybe it was more like the arrival of the SPANISH ARMADA!

You could have chosen to just FOLLOW THE STARS or HUG THE WIND but, no, together the two of you set out to CHASE THE DREAM and FIGHT FOR GLORY.

VINCENT wanted you to PARTY ON - party on with all those goodtime girls like ELLE MAC, LINDA LOVEGRACE and that fantastic SUPERBOWLCHEERLEADER.

KING DENNY and his good mate, the JESSE DUKE, were a bit more classy and wanted you to get PRINCESS TIFFANY over. “I’m sure she’s SWEET ON ME,” he kept saying, “but, just in case, you can put the PICCADILLY PRINCESS on the emergency list.”

But, as WINTERFELL and things started to SMOLDA, there was a much BETTOR TWIST. Natalie’s words kept ringing in your ears - “I’m sure that, as a team, we can SPANKEM and show that it’s not just an AMAZING DREAM. IT’S ALL ABOUT FAITH!”

“We’re both SELF ASSURED and we don’t need THE FIXER. but it certainly won’t be a CRUZ BRO. We’ll need to make more than ONE CHANGE. In fact the MORE THE BETTER. We can really TURN IT UP. And, if we have to, we can bring in the ULTIMATE - a MACHETE or a SNIPER!”

“Wow!” said Mark. “Your idea of HEAVEN ROCKS. Sounds like a SMOOTH DEAL to me. And, on top of all that, you ADORE ME... you DREAM ABOUT ME... you even ENHANCE MY CALM. And that guy LAZARUS thought he had all the luck.”

“Come on Nat. Let’s go and CHASE AUCKLAND. It’s all BEYOND WORDS!”
