Diamond ring up for grabs on Diamonds day

There will be more than just eleven race winners on the track at Diamonds Day, one of the south’s premier harness race meetings at Ascot Park Raceway in Invercargill on Saturday.

A brand new, diamond ring, valued at $4200, courtesy of Coats & Schuck Jewellers and the Invercargill Harness Racing Club, is being given away through an on-course promotion that could not be easier.

And this one is just for the ladies. Each time a $5 bet is placed on course they will be given a coupon. Just fill it in and place it in the bucket on the First Floor of the Main Grandstand. Make sure you are still on course after Race 10 when the grand prize draw takes place in the birdcage and you could win and win big by taking home this incredible prize.

Someone else will get themselves into the draw for a trip to Mooloolaba just by placing their losing tickets in another prize bucket on the First Floor of the Main Grandstand. One name will be drawn after race nine and the winner will join our other daily winners throughout the season to go in our big final draw to win a trip to the Peninsular Beachfront Resort in Mooloolaba with travel by Beach Road Holiday Park, Invercargill.

Club and raceday staff and officials are not eligible to enter either competition.

Ladies will also be welcomed onto the course with their first glass of wine free on race day.

On track the finals of the Nevele R Stud/Macca Lodge Southern Oaks Final and the Alabar Southern Supremacy Stakes Final, both races Group 2 events with stakes of $50,000 over a distance of 2700m will be run. The other Group 2 race on the programme is the $60,000 Diamond Creek Farm Classic for 2-year-olds. The $30,000 Regent Car Court Southern Cups Final is also on the programme on a day where stakes exceed $290,000.

Vaccine passes are no longer required to attend and the first race is scheduled for 11.45am.

Keep a look out on our Southern Harness Racing facebook page for more information.

Admission to the course on the day will be free.
