Copy That wins Spring Cup
Big northern hope Copy That has opened his New Zealand Cup campaign with a decisive victory in the $25,000 Alabar Spring Cup at Alexandra Park tonight.
Maurice McKendry gave the multiple Group One winner the perfect trip in the 2200 metre feature, starting safely enough and landing the one-one before getting the better of the second favourite Bad To The Bone and Christianshavtime.
The hotpot paid just $1.50 and $1.20.
Before tonight’s race Copy That was rated a $5 third favourite for the New Zealand Cup at Addington on Tuesday November 9 behind defending champion Self Assured and South Coast Arden.
