Club News - Kaikoura

The Kaikoura Trotting Club is counting down to its time to shine on the racing calendar.  

"November 1 and 2 can't come quick enough," says Kaikoura Trotting Club president Ben Smith, "we've had working bees, done a heap of painting and tidying up so everything will be good to go when it needs to be." 

The club will host six races on the Sunday, with 10 on its feature day on Monday. 

Sunday –   First race 2.47 pm – last race 5.38 pm. Entry by gold coin donation supporting the Kaikoura Cricket Club 

Monday â€“ First race 12.17 pm – last race 5.33 pm – Entry $10 per person, under 18s free. 

Monday features the Alabar Kaikoura Cup, Majestic Son South Bay Trotters Cup and  PGG Wrightson NZ Yearling Sales Aged Pace. 

"We know we are going to get some classy fields,  Sundees Son and One Apollo have already been confirmed for the Trotters Cup, and John Dunn has told us he'll bring a big team, including Classie Brigade in the Cup," said Smith.

Think you look the part and want to enter?  Just turn up to the birdcage after Race 3 and enter the Heat. The final will take place after Race 4.

Self-contained Campervans and Caravans

Are welcome to park overnight, inside the Track.  Gates open at 9.00 am Thursday morning and will remain open until Tuesday morning.  Charge is $10/night per van.  (Please note this charge does not include Adult admission charge of $10 to Monday’s race meeting.)

Kaikoura Trotting Club committee "over the moon" after successful meeting

Apart from a few "tweaks here and there" the Kaikoura Trotting Club believe they are close to the event they want it to become as a lead up to IRT New Zealand Cup week.

More
