Central Circuit Trainers Bonus Resurrected

The former Central Circuit Trainers Bonus has been resurrected and will be bigger and better than before with the three clubs (Central Otago Trotting Club, Roxburgh Trotting Club & Wyndham Harness Racing Club) putting up a total of $4,500!

This will be allocated on a points basis run over two bonus schemes, one for public trainers and one for licence to train trainers.

Public Trainers will have a pool of $4,000 with $2,500 for the winner, $1,000 for second and $500 for third.

Licence to Train Trainers will have a pool of $500 with $300 for the winner, $200 for the runner up.

The points will be allocated as 5 points for a win, 3 for 2nd, 2 for 3rd and 1 point for every starter that is unplaced.

The bonus scheme has not been held in recent years so the three clubs felt it was time to reward the trainers for their loyalty which is such an important aspect of the success of this hugely popular summer holiday racing circuit.

The Central Otago Trotting Club race on Monday the 2nd of January at the Omakau Racecourse, the Roxburgh Trotting Club race on Wednesday the 4th of January at the Roxburgh Racecourse and the Wyndham Harness Racing Club race on Friday the 6th of January at the Cromwell Racecourse.
