Blanchards with good chances at Cambridge tonight

The Blanchard-Ferguson combo looms large at Cambridge tonight.

Peter Ferguson will drive three of Peter and Vaughan Blanchard's best chances on the night in Hill Billie Bundy, Shes All Legs and Miki Mirage.

Hill Billie Bundy is a $2.50 favourite, in Race 6,  The Daily Double Handicap Trot (8.09pm). The four-year-old is back after finishing her last campaign in August with a hat-trick of wins.

"She's a nice mare who has really matured," says Vaughan Blanchard.

Blanchard says her 25m backmark is "always a worry" though she has been a recent workout winner in preparation for her resumption.

"She is not screwed down yet and will improve with the run."

Blanchard has some lofty targets with Hill Billie Bundy including the Waikato Trotting Breeders Stakes on Friday, November 13 and the Group 1 Queen Of Diamonds at Alexandra Park in December.

The Blanchards have a strong hand in tonight's race, with stablemate Patrick Mahomes ($6.50) to be driven by Sailesh Abernethy.

"He's going good and was a bit unlucky last start," says Blanchard.

That was at Auckland last week when he was blocked for a run before finishing on into fourth.

Blanchard also rates Shes All Legs in Race 4 (7.19pm), the Book Your Xmas Function at Cambridge Raceway Handicap Trot.

"She raced at Auckland last start but is in at Cambridge just because she's better suited to a standing start," he says.

Shes All Legs will start off 10 metres and is vying for favouritism with Busy Canoodling, Kenny Hill and President Flynntin.

Another decent prospect is Miki Mirage ($8.50) (and Ferguson) in Race 5 - (7.44pm) Dunstan Horsefeeds Mobile Pace, after finishing fourth at Alexandra Park last week.

"We like Miki Mirage tonight, he's an each way chance."

The Blanchards' other runners are Like A Lady in Race 1 (5.52pm), the Skyline Lounge Open All Race Nights Mobile Pace and Mary Magdalene in Race 3 (6.44pm), the NZMCA Parking at Cambridge Raceway Mobile Park.
