Animal Welfare (Care and Procedures) Amendment Regulations 2020
Harness Racing New Zealand is informing people that the package of animal welfare regulations relating to surgical procedures on animals has now been approved.
The new regulations, the Animal Welfare (Care and Procedures) Amendment Regulations 2020, are available on the NZ Legislation website here. They will be incorporated into the Animal Welfare (Care and Procedures) Regulations 2018 here in the future.
The key area that affect harness horses is the update to the Extracting equids’ teeth. Also this is a reminder that these Animal Welfare (Care and Procedures) Regulations 2018 are New Zealand Legislation.
