American Me up to 11th in NZ Cup rankings

Evergreen pacer American Me has been the big mover in this week's Go Media New Zealand Trotting Cup rankings.

The nine-year-old took out the IRT Spring Cup at Alexandra Park on Friday night in what was his fourth win in six starts since moving north to Matty White's Clevedon stables.

As a result of the win he has gone from 19th in the rankings up to 11th.

Bettor Knuckle Up, who finished second behind American Me, has also inched up the leaderboard, going from 14th to 12th.

Bettor Knuckle Up was fourth in last year's New Zealand Cup.

The top 10 in the Cup rankings remain unchanged.

Last Friday's feature trot at Alexandra Park, the John Boyle Commercial Reality Cup, has seen a re-shuffle in the rankings for the $400,000 Renwick Farms Dominion Trot, which like the Cup will be held at Addington Raceway on Tuesday, November 10.

The winner of Friday's race Higher Power has improved two places, from eighth to sixth while the second-placed Shez Bella has leapt nine places, from 35th to 26th and Belle Neige, who was third, is now 12th, up two places from last week.

Further south Prestigious' second at Addington on Friday night, behind Kawatiri Trev, has seen him climb seven places, from 38th to 31st.

He'll front up again at Addington this Friday in a stacked Tactical Approach D G Jones Banks Peninsula Cup.

The winner of the race will automatically qualify for the Dominion Trot.
