$270,000 top price on first day on NZB Yearling Sales

Lot 64, a Captaintreacherous - Princess Tiffany filly has been been the sale topper on day one of the NZB Standardard Yearing Sales at Karaka.

From the Breckon Farms draft, the filly was snapped up by Mark Jones for $270,000.

The underbidder was champion trainer Mark Purdon who drove and co-trained Princess Tiffany during her highly successful career. She won over $1m, with 25 wins from 46 starts.

Nine yearlings sold for $100,000 or more, including Lot 50, a three quarter brother to the unbeaten Millwood Nike.

The sales now move to Christchurch for day two and three on Tuesday and Wednesday.
