$100 per horse at Manawatu
The Manawatu Harness Racing Club will reward those travelling to the remaining two-day meetings for the season.
These will be held on April 7 and 9 and then April 28 and 30.
The club has decided to pay $100 for every horse that travels to Palmerston North from outside the region.
"They could be coming from anywhere - the South Island, Taranaki or the Waikato," says Manawatu Harness Racing Club President Dan Lynch.
"We have some money in our coffers at the moment and with the way petrol prices are we thought it is the best way to attract horses and reward trainers," says Lynch.
Horses will only have to start on one day at each of the meetings to be eligible for the payment.
