"The Race" just days away
Welcome to "Race" week.
And for those wanting to attend one of harness racing's marquee events tickets are still available.
On Thursday Cambridge Raceway will host the first ever running of New Zealand's first ever slot race. The $900,00 The Race by Grins is New Zealand's richest harness race and has brought together a field of 10 from both sides of the Tasman.
Racegoers have a number of options.
General admission is $25 and included is a $5 betting voucher, a can of Grins or non-alcoholic drink, a racebook and a pen.
Top of the line for anyone wanting to get trackside is the Skyline Lounge, with Platinum Tickets going for $360 each. Included is a premium drinks package along with a three-course meal. There are a very limited number of tickets available.
The Clubhouse sports bar will be open to owners and trainers with horses running on the night. This is an invite-only event.
All indoor venues are limited to 200 people, as per Covid protocols.
The night's feature - the $900,000 The Race by Grins - is set to go at 8.55pm NZT.
