Rankings re-shuffle for NZ Cup and Dominion

The rankings for the New Zealand Trotting Cup and the Renwick Farms Dominion Trot have had a minor re-jig following last Friday night's action at Addington Raceway.

The Lazarus Effect sealed his spot in the Cup on Tuesday, November 10 with his win in the first of the automatic qualifiers, the Allied Security Maurice Holmes Vase for trainer-driver Bob Butt.

He moves from sixth last week to now being third in this week's rankings behind defending champion Kingman and 2025 Auckland Cup winner Republican Party.

Australian stars, Cup favourite Leap To Fame and dual New Zealand Cup winner Swayzee have both moved down one spot to fourth and fifth.

In finishing second on Friday, Mo'unga pressed his claims for a start in the big race, improving four places, from 13th to ninth.

There is little other movement though Renegade, who was third in the Maurice Holmes Vase, inches closer, up from 25th to 19th.

Friday's running of the Tyre General Basil Dean resulted in promotions up the Dominion Trot leaderboard for the first three home.

Winner Bring On The Muscle has climbed from 21st to 15th while runner-up Midnight Dash is up two places to fifth.

In finishing third on Friday He Aint Fakin is up seven to 30th.

Despite finishing fifth in the same race, Mr Love remains at number two, courtesy of his win in the 2026 Rowe Cup, behind defending Dominion champion Gus with fellow Australian and hot favourite Keayang Zahara at three.
