Racing stopped in Tasmania
3 April 2020
, News
Tasmania has followed the lead of countries like New Zealand and stopped all racing, effective immediately.
All codes – harness racing, gallops and greyhounds – have been grounded, as a response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Tasmania has more than 70 cases of coronavirus with the Government making the decision in the interest of public safety.
All racing, starting with tonight’s harness meeting at Devonport, is off for the next four weeks at least.
