Quaddie Preview - Winton

With the TAB guaranteeing a $30,000 quaddie on the last four races at Winton on Friday here are a few pointers for punters.

The quaddie, starting at 3.02pm, features four Winter Rewards races (three pace and one trot) and they all look pretty open affairs, so we enlisted the help of those in the know to provide you with some options.

Race 7: 3.02pm: Woodlands Stud Winter Rewards Mobile Pace

Comments: Tartan Raider rated as a possible anchor by some, Fireforfiddle has been running good races and drawn well, Jenny Gump is into what could be a tricky draw but she’s going too well to drop. Cast A Shadow also brings nice form.

Race 8: 3.35pm Marshall Industries Winter Rewards Handicap Trot

Comments: Drawn one, Dont Ask is very popular after two seconds in last three starts, Majestic Love also favoured despite fading out of her last start after a tough trip. Winning Bones and Dwindle Star each bring consistent form and can give cheek from the front line.

Race 9: 4.00pm Alabar Winter Rewards Mobile Pace

Comments: A wide open race with Arnies Army and Hangin With Hector both bringing the best form, Wattlebank Arnie looks nicely placed in this grade, Durrant is potent with the right run while Millwood Indie gets a big draw upgrade.

Comments: Heez Good and Brookies Player have been going outstanding races but both face tough draws, Jordy has been very consistent lately and has one of the best draws of the main players.

But as one of our selectors remarked: "the longer you look at them the harder it gets"
