NZB Standardbred Harness Racing NZ Awards 2020
New details have been confirmed for the annual harness racing awards, and they are bigger than originally planned.
The NZB Standardbred Harness Racing NZ Awards will be held at Spectators Bar and Bistro at Addington Raceway on Monday September 14.
Originally set down for August 10 the awards were going to be confined to five awards - leading driver, trainer, and junior as well as leading UDR junior and Best Moment of the Season (People’s Choice).
Now, after feedback from the racing community, it’s been decided all the traditional horse/people awards will be included as well. In all there will be 32 awards on the night although the ceremony itself will much more low key than previous years. This is due to the shortened season because of the COVID lockdown and a desire to keep costs down.
Anyone wanting to attend will need to register with Courtney Clarke (courtney@hrnz.co.nz). There will be a free drink on entry, complimentary finger food and a cash bar.
Dress code - Smart casual
The doors will open at 6pm with the awards getting underway at 6.30pm.
