Club news - Methven Trotting Club

The Methven Trotting Club is gearing up for its next meeting which is scheduled for Sunday January 31. With the recent rain the track has a good sole of grass and the track and surrounds are in great order .

At our last meeting the Green Miles were run with the big trot won by The Dominator trained by Donna Williamson at Timaru and the pace by Henry Hubert, trained by Robert Dunn. The day was a terrific success tote wise and judging by the numbers who stayed on long after the racing to enjoy the twilight. Great to see so many children taking part in contests, lolly scrambles and generally having a good time.

The racing highlight at our next meeting is sure to be the Lather Up Little Green Jug 3 year old stakes worth $15,000. Raced over a mobile mile for 3 year olds rating 65 and below it is sure to be an exciting contest and interesting to speculate what time the 3 year olds may achieve on the grass track.

The club has made a decision to make its meeting on April 12 a members day with giveaways ,spot prizes and betting vouchers to lucky members on course in thanks for all the support they have given the club over the years.(anyone wanting to become a member contact the secretary Methven Trotting Club).

Keep safe and see you at Mt. Harding track on January 31 where the sun always shines,

Mike Heenan for Methven Trotting Club.
