Methven meeting transferred to Ashburton
Sunday's scheduled meeting at Methven will now be held on the all-weather track at Ashburton.
The decision follows an inspection today of the grass track at Mt Harding by Harness Racing New Zealand, RIB (Racing Integrity Board) and club officials.
With surface water present on both turns, and more rain forecast over the next 48 hours, the track was deemed unsuitable for Sunday's meeting to proceed.
It was then decided that Ashburton was the most logical alternative. All races there will be over 2400 metres.
All horses able to be re-instated that were scratched will be re-instated, with the Club contacting impacted trainers.
