Makeover for NZ's most scenic race course
It's all go for the South Bay race course this October.
The famous track at Kaikoura, billed as the one of the most scenic harness racing tracks anywhere in the world, has just had a makeover ahead of its meetings on October 30 and 31.
Work's progressed well on re-surfacing the 1119m all-weather track and it will be prime condition for its annual two-day meeting just before New Zealand Cup and Show week.
HRNZ's venue Inspector John Denton was well-pleased with the work and is very thankful "for the Kaikoura Club and their very warm hospitality."
Kaikoura is just the latest in a number of tracks that are getting upgraded.
"There are eight tracks that will be re-surfaced between August last year and December this year," said Denton, "and we're very happy with the way Kaikoura's turned out."
