Lasa favoured in seventh heat of Canterbury Plains Challenge Series

The Canterbury Plains Challenge Series, which will culminate in a $40,000 Final, will have its seventh of 10 Heats at Addington on Wednesday. 

The series for 5YO and Older Pacers (Rated 35) started at Addington on April 8 and so far there have been six winners - Heaven Forbid, Jukebox Gypsy, Sweet Dreams, Stubing, Always Bee Gee and Belmont Valor.

None of them will be fronting up again in Race 7, The Canterbury Plains Challenger Series Heat 7 (7.30pm), with Lasa the current $2.35 favourite. 

The Cran and Chrissie Dalgety-trained five-year-old has had a third and a fourth placing in two runs so far this series. His third was at Motukarara a week ago. 

Hugo is next in the market at $5.50. He's drawn one the second line.

After Wednesday's heat there will be three more before the $40,000 Final at Addington on May 15.  

They are at : 

Rangiora (Sunday) May 3
Addington (Wednesday) May 6 
Ashburton (Sunday) May 10 

To be eligible for the $40,000 Final at Addington a horse must have had at least one start in a heat of this series, and a minimum of two race starts within the qualification period of April 8 - May 10.
