Jason Teaz's tips for Auckland tonight

Form analyst Jason Teaz casts his eye over the fields at Auckland tonight.

Race 1

1 Blitzembye
6 Raven Banner
3 Last Tango In Heaven
7 Hot And Treacherous

BLITZEMBYE stwps up in grade tonight but was ultra impressive both in placing and winning in the last two starts. Home in 54 to win May 7. From this draw he can show his gate speed. Tough to beat.
RAVEN BANNER was second in an R61-81 race two weeks ago, is very consistent and never runs a bad race.
LAST TANGO IN HEAVEN will be pleased Alta Wiseguy is nowhere to be seen having won the races he has started in the last three times. A winning chance on consistency.
HOT AND TREACHEROUS hasn't been seen on race day since running fourth in the Derby. Third in the very quick workout May 8 won by BD Joe, so strips forward tonight.
LITTLE MISS PERFECT will look for early lead. Racing well in slightly weaker fields than this, but is a first four chance.

Race 2

5 Mufasa Metro
7 Time Up The Hill
2 The Big Bird
6 Gaz Man

MUFASA METRO tripped down for a look at Cambridge May 6 and he made real hard work of winning given his preference to right handed racing. He finished third in the Sires stakes behind Five Wise Men the start prior. Has to be top pick back on his favoured track tonight.
TIME UP THE HILL is having her first ever stand start tonight. That's intriguing. A very well mannered filly who you would guess will be a fine stand start exponent but all eyes will be on the start. Beaten a nose in the Derby then dismantled a poor oaks field. Been busy but keeps fronting.
THE BIG BIRD needs a win to make the Jewels field. Racing very consistently and will be there when the whips are cracking.
GAZ MAN got back into form last week. He defeated The Big Bird that night. The 2700 start helped but he does make errors on the stables turn from the 2200m start point. If he trots the whole way of course he can win.
I SEE FIRE was very unlucky last week after the early gallop. Very hard to trust from barrier one anywhere. Too good to drop.
Breeders stakes winner EMMA FROST has been so unlucky lately. In the wrong spot weekly. Racing on top of her game and one day her stars will align again.

Race 3

5 Happy Place
11 Lynton Creek
8 Betterbebetter
4 Frankie Jones

HAPPY PLACE has been the recipient of lots of luck here drawing his trainer Sheryl Wigg to drive him. She knows him better than anyone and given what he's been racing against lately he is the top pick. A winner in amateur company with Sheryl on previously.
LYNTON CREEK won the last amateur race here two weeks ago. Had been outgraded prior and had steadily worked his way back competitive again. A big show to go back to back.
BETTERBEBETTER drops back from the feature paces at Cambridge. Was used up in many of his last starts and fell on his sword predictably. Blair Wilmott will suit this horse and is the upset material. Better than the form.
FRANKIE JONES won an amateur race April 16 by seven lengths. Drawn to dictate the race with his stablemates.
PRODIGAL PETE is one of a couple on the backup from Cambridge last night. That's a tough ask.
KAYLA MAGUIRE has ended up with a tough draw tonight. Had no luck from this draw May 7 but an amatuer winner at Cambridge April 29.
HUGO GEORGE hasn't raced since December but won a workout two weeks ago at Pukekohe albeit the form hasn't quite stacked up from it.

Race 4

2 Cyclone Lebron
9 Willis Graham
8 Errol D
4 Cruise Liner

CYCLONE LEBRON has started his career nicely with three placings from three starts. It's his turn to win tonight in a field lacking of depth.
WILLIS GRAHAM has trotted all the way in his last two runs, in his last he went his career best with a third behind Aldebaran Flame. A hope with manners.
ERROL D is a horse who when he gallops it's game over. Showed what he can do in his first preparation with two seconds. One of those was behind Special Way. He did run second last week at the workouts but he galloped badly. Hit or miss.
CRUISE LINER is a beautifully bred and looking trotter. A brother to Galleons Sunset. Broke when looking a place chance on debut so give another go.
CHICAGO H made good ground last week after galloping early. He tends to make mistakes early so until he trots the whole way he remains a first four chance but has the talent to win one of these soon.

Race 5

3 Suntan
5 Mr Kaplan
4 A Better You
2 Chevrons Bypass

SUNTAN has been impressive in the north. Winning a heat and then running second in the final of the Sires stakes. Sat parked for the most part and was only run down by True Fantasy. Has the draw to win again.
MR KAPLAN is the group one winner in the field of the young guns final. Not much luck since but never far away. Massive each way as she is forever underrated.
A BETTER YOU has lost ground on the top fillies in the north by not being potent enough right handed. Third up may be at her best tonight. Certainly the forgotten filly.
CHEVRONS BYPASS has been battling hard all season so far. Was unlucky in the Sires stakes final April 30. Only win was left handed and has covered plenty of NZ.
I'LLAVABUBBLES lands barrier one for this and if no worse than three back the pegs can place on her Harness Million fourth last Friday.

Race 6

7 Arden Velocity
2 Polka Delight
8 John Wayne
11 I Expect Bettor

ARDEN VELOCITY showed good gate speed in the most recent workout second. Trial form was probably better last time in but finds the right race on debut.
POLKA DELIGHT let a lot of people down when breaking in the trail at the 300m mark May 7. Won't have to improve much to win this on her previous three placings.
JOHN WAYNE improved further from the first up fourth with a second last week. Showed good speed early, enough to offset barrier eight tonight.
I EXPECT BETTOR is the best horse in this race. Unbeaten in all of his trials he drew seven on debut and everywhere he went he struck trouble. Every time he went to go he got shut out. Was making ground. Very speedy but the draw is again against him tonight. Senior driver on could be the key. Watch closely.
JOSHUA RICHARD beat Polka Delight and John Wayne by twelve lengths and six lengths respectively. The draw is a major issue but ready for a win.
EYECON drops back from race winning amateur company. Went a couple of cheeky races in those too. Did all the work last time and is the odds bet.

Race 7

5 Liason
3 Majestic Princess
2 Safrakova
7 Hill Of Peace

LIASON heads an average lot tonight. Second placed in three of his last four starts. Beaten last time by I See Fire, who would start $1.20 here. Resumes after a stone bruise setback mid April so fitness is the only concern.Should get the win he deserves.
MAJESTIC PRINCESS faces a sharp rise in class from maidens but has few convictions than most here. Will need to lift from a 2:09 mile rate and a 62 half but can.
SAFRAKOVA is having start 105 tonight. Has won seven races. More than many of these ever will. The reversal in distance back to the 2200m is the key and she beat moany of these May 7.
HILL OF PEACE has only had three starts. The last of those in September. Beat a field of maidens at the workouts May 14. Sure to be ready from the Wallis/Hackett stable..
If and it's a massive if ASTERIA LAVRA did things right she could blow them out here. Only eight lengths from faster class trotters than these two starts ago. Manners continue to frustrate.

Race 8

6 Copy That
5 Amazing Dream
1 Steel The Show
2 Tommy Lincoln

A race in two, with COPY THAT the likely favorite. Has the picket fence formline since the game placing in the Auckland cup. Group successes of the Waikato Flying Mile, Taylor mile and the Messenger to name but a few. Should continue on his winning way.
AMAZING DREAM hasn't quite been the same since her Auckland Cup win, but she's been consistently good. Warming up for a Harness Jewels victory with another game effort tonight.
STEEL THE SHOW took advantage of barrier ones in the Taylor Mile and Messenger with big placed efforts. Finished four lengths from Copy That after trailing him in the Messenger so not expected to win tonight but a place is likely.
TOMMY LINCOLN will look to get across Steel The Show and trail his stablemate. His chances of third rest on that alone.

Race 9

9 Temporale
6 Forget The Price Tag
8 Woodstone
4 Invictus

The conditions of a maximum backmark of 30m suit TEMPORALE. Back from third in the Rowe Cup. Surprisingly beaten under these conditions from 20m April 9, but watch the replay. Should atone tonight.
FORGET THE PRICE TAG tries immensely. Placed in 16 of 25 at Alexandra Park. The main danger to the favourite.
WOODSTONE returned to form off the 25m when just run down by American Pride last Friday. Another suited by these conditions but not the 2200m.
INVICTUS gets a breather tonight back to the 10m tape after the 25m and 35m handicaps lately. Five of his eight wins have come over the 2200m. Will be hard to catch if firing on all cylinders.
KING'S LANDING is racing near his best again and is trotting freely. A place chance.

Race 10

1 Zarias
3 Bettor Listen
2 Marathon Man
8 Louie The Punter

ZARIAS returns tonight after last racing in February at Addington in the Harness 7000. Should have won after bungling the start when trying to get his head under the mobile gate. Had a 400m sprint up at last Saturday's workouts. Interesting driver engagement but should win.
BETTOR LISTEN doesn't win but he runs seconds behind really nice horses and that may well continue tonight. Should be $1.00 on the place tote.
MARATHON MAN is also fresh since October. Found the line attractively behind Zarias in that workout Saturday after being left flat footed when they sprinted finished it off nicely. Better than this grade and can be in the first four.
LOUIE THE PUNTER's winning run came to an end May 7 when finding a bit of trouble. Struck an opponent's wheel en route to facing the breeze in a big jump up in class. The draw hurts tonight but include.
LADY MATARA comes home for her first run at Alexandra Park tonight. Freshened since a below par workout right handed in April. Speedy enough to get involved early.

Best Bet: Race 10 (1) Zarias
Each Way Value: Race 6 (11) I Expect Bettor
