Jason Teaz's tips for Cambridge

Form analyst Jason Teaz gives us a detailed race by race breakdown of today's meeting at Cambridge

Race 1
1 Commander Cathy
5 Settle Petal
3 Shanlou
6 Alta Cassino

COMMANDER CATHY has recorded five second placings in her eleven start career. Gets the plum draw of barrier one and after not being able to wrestle away the front last week, will be trying to hold it tonight.
SETTLE PETAL had to endure being parked throughout last Friday at Auckland and she came unstuck. With a sit her first up run was excellent.
SHANLOU had no chance drawing barrier nine last week, and ended up too far away. Prior form was very solid, running three seconds in a row here at Cambridge.
ALTA CASSINO has again drawn out tonight. Has good gate speed and will look to get handy again. Pressed on well for a second a week ago.
HARVEY SPECTER has had a stable change to the Blanchard's. Can run a place on that alone.

Race 2
7 I See Fire
6 The Big Bird
3 Aflyin Spur
10 Manchester's Eclipse

I SEE FIRE looked a smart two year old last year. Won two non tote races here including the sires stakes heat twelve months to the day. Galloped a lot as an early three year old and then galloped again first up at Alexandra park last Friday. His trial form had been good so top pick on class.
THE BIG BIRD has her first start at Cambridge. She has been disappointing overall but this may be the weakest field she has faced. Her only win came over the 2200m.
AFLYIN SPUR won on debut two weeks ago easily. This is a sharp rise in class and this will test his manners. Still a nice type and won't be far away.
MANCHESTER'S ECLIPSE returns to her preferred track tonight. Has just been battling but her standing start manners have been more reliable.
KEYSTONE CAVALIER and TRAMPS LIKE US were third and fourth respectively last week but the field wasn't as strong or as big as this. They have first four claims.

Race 3
3 Mia Ragazza
4 Little Suzie
6 Cos I Can
7 Tuxedo Bromac

MIA RAGAZZA hasn't raced since November. Beaten narrowly in her last two starts. Has had two workouts back. Winning her latest but she only had one rival and the time was slow. Takes advantage of the preferential draws favoring the fillies by drawing well.
LITTLE SUZIE went the best race of her career last week. The main thing for her was that she paced throughout. Expect her to roll forward.
COS I CAN is just a two year old but his first up run beaten eight lengths was better than it looked and ran good time. Will keep improving.
TUXEDO BROMAC is fresh back tonight for a month. Never got much luck in all starts from average draws and barrier seven won't help his win chances tonight either but can run a cheeky race fresher.
JE T'AIME should have improved from her first up run and adds to the puzzle for first fours.

Race 4
5 Bugalugs
4 Sarandon
8 Rough And Ready
10 Hezashadowplaya

BUGALUGS was desperately unlucky last week. He locked wheels at the top of the straight and never got clear air. That was in the main race, and drop's a grade tonight. He's so consistent and deserves another win.
SARANDON was monstrous last week. The one concern was that she can struggle to back up and given how hard that race was she is a risk. Hard to bet against on that win.
ROUGH AND READY also drops back a grade tonight. Does cop a wide draw and will need luck. He did find the line well last time.
HEZASHADOWPLAYA was fifth in quick time last Friday at Auckland. Barrier ten limits his chances and he doesn't normally fire in behind but he is racing well.
DOWN THE HATCH is drawn one on the second row following a horse without much gate speed. She drops out of Auckland company and a 1:55 mile rate should have hard and fit for tonight.
BODRUM BOY is the roughie. He has been caught sitting back in sit and sprints in the main races of late and will relish dropping a grade. If he can get a cart in he could run over the top of them.

Race 5
6 Kristofferson
3 Liason
7 Fira
9 As Free As Air

KRISTOFFERSON has won both of his races at Cambridge, one in a mobile. Did make a mess of his two other starts but lately has come solid. The last two runs, a second and a fourth were on premier nights at Auckland. Should be too tough for these.
LIASON won his last start at Cambridge. Backed that up with a second before losing his manners in February. He tends to step here and looks more comfortable left handed.
FIRA moves forward ten metres tonight. Did cop twenty metres for her win two starts ago. She's normally consistent.
AS FREE AS AIR has been beaten under a length in her last two starts. The 2200m is normally her go and she has a powerful finish on her.
MAJESTIC HARRY put two wins at Cambridge together in February. Won off the 20m over 2700 last time. 20m over 2200m is a massive ask for him and he is a place chance at best.
THE LAST GAMBLE didn't go as well last week after emptying the fuel tank the week before. Still racing consistently. Barrier one is the only concern.
PRESIDENTIAL JEWEL galloped twice last week when looking a sure thing on paper. The handicap makes it tough for her to win.
GRIFFINS HALL is only 10m behind and he steps well so will put himself into the contest.

Race 6
4 Last Tango In Heaven
6 Aladdin
1 Alta Wiseguy
5 Outlaw Man

LAST TANGO IN HEAVEN bolted in last week. Did get a soft lead and sprinted home. Tactics will be interesting.
Harness million winner ALADDIN hasn't fired since winning that. Slightly better last week when second behind Last Tango In Heaven. Should run in the top three.
ALTA WISEGUY was so unlucky last week at Auckland. Just wasn't put into the race and was a tragedy beat. From barrier one tonght he should be either in front or the trail. Gets his chance to atone.
OUTLAW MAN races at home for the first time after ten runs at Alexandra park. He's almost lead or bust and he may need to really fly early to find the lead. His chances go up ten fold if he can find the lead.

Race 7
6 Pull The Other Leg
3 Brookies Jaffa
8 The Banker
1 Emmber

PULL THE OTHER LEG only just missed March 4. Hardly ever runs a bad race and is the class horse of the race. Top pick.
BROOKIES JAFFA was a close fourth last week. Outsprinted late after being parked for 1300m. Could let them for a long way tonight.
THE BANKER was unlucky to lose last week. He got shunted wide on the last bend which didn't suit. When he balanced up he surged. May have to work overtime again tonight.
EMMBER went her best race of her career at Auckland on derby night in the northern mares classic. Gate speed is an issue but could end up trailing Brookies Jaffa. She has a potent finish.

Race 8
1 Maurice
7 The Peacemaker
3 Eighteen Carat
6 Itsthefinalcountdown

MAURICE was a blackbooker at Auckland. Three and four wide off the back the last time in an amatuer race. Should be even better suited left handed and is with a noted horse improver in Cheree Wigg. Bet of the night.
THE PEACEMAKER has been rundown late in her last two starts. Drawn out a bit wide but should get handy enough with her gate speed. Definite each way.
EIGHTEEN CARAT drops back hugely in grade from the listed northern mares classic at Auckland. Last two starts at Cambridge were massive after being parked out the whole way for both placings. Has a chance to lead tonight.
ITSTHEFINALCOUNTDOWN was a well driven third last week first up for Jo Stevens. Still looking for his first win in the north and trying to break a 35 start lean patch.
PANSPACIFICJET is drawn to cover no extra and follows the likely winner. Had no chance from barrier eleven last week.

Race 9
2 Jasinova
7 Wynberg Watch
3 Sonsofthemerch
6 Cepheus

JASINOVA left it too late last week. Made her best beginning so far so signs are good that she is working this racing game out. Top pick.
WYNBERG WATCH went into the barrier draw for one start and it backfired. So it's back to the unruly. He's a work in progress but this field must be within his grasp. If he could get back to his best he would win.
SONSOFTHEMERCH put in a huge recovery last week. Another one who is very green but can trot. Bred to be good being a grandson of Solar Fire.
CEPHEUS placed here against race winners three starts ago. Then backed up the next night and finished down the track. Galloped out of the race March 12. Back to Cambridge she's a big hope.
KEYSTONE COMET showed his true potential last week when just grabbed late by Kissme Quick. Stepped and ran and with similar tactics he can win.
WILLIS GRAHAM comes to Cambridge for the first time tonight. Respecting the stable but is hard to have on form.

Best Bet: Race 8 (1) Maurice
Each Way Value: Race 4 (5) Bugalugs
