Jason Teaz's tips for Cambridge

Form analyst Jason Teaz casts his eye over a big day at Cambridge on Saturday, including the Waikato Trotting Breeders Stakes handicap trot  at 6.17 pm and the Farrier Supplies Cambridge Gold Cup Handicap pace at 6.45pm.

First race 3.32pm.

Race 1 :

4 Te Amo
1 Betterzippit
9 Hooray Henry
6 Tuxedo Bromac

TE AMO has gone his best races at Cambridge. Runner up to Nudist Beach on the passing lane two starts ago. Never got into it at Auckland January 22. Should win this.
BETTERZIPPIT is a recent qualifier on his own who is better for the race day experience to date. Barrier one is a logical assist.
HOORAY HENRY only qualified January 21 in a heat that went 2:45. Sometimes horses don't improve much from a run like that but if he can he should get a good run.
TUXEDO BROMAC improved markedly with a cozy trip last week, A place chance in this lineup.
SIX TIMES A LADY again won a fast run workout last week but then unplaced race day efforts make you wonder why race day is so different to trial day.
TIME OUT is now in the Blanchard stable. Latest trial January 29 was just fair, but has no convictions.

Race 2 :

7 Super Duper Dude
12 Dixie Reign
2 Romanee
11 Ace Strike

In a very even lineup SUPER DUPER DUDE will be hard to beat. Dropping out of two tough Auckland races for this today. Don't be surprised to see him put in the race early.
DIXIE REIGN has won three of four Cambridge starts and gets in very well here as an R59. Will try the hardest.
ROMANEE was beaten turning for home on January 21. Possibly didn't back up from his tough win the week before. So give him another chance tonight having missed last week. All three career wins have come here.
ACE STRIKE drops out of the cup qualifiers from two weeks ago. This is his class although has yet to win here in seventeen starts.
RED ATOM comes out of running fourth in a much stronger field January 14. Racing better than his form reads.
SPIRIT OF ANZAC has won two of his last three, he's used to racing from average barriers so the eight draw won't hinder him.
For odds SUNSET RED gives the Rogerson stable a massive three pronged attack and also drops back in company tonight.

Race 3 :

1 Satchmo
4 Four Kisses
2 Suidelike Major
5 The Sportsman

One on the second row was a curse for SATCHMO on January 21. Gets barrier one this time. Deserves a win as only glitch in the form line was an unlucky driver tip a month ago.
FOUR KISSES had a very quiet introduction to racing last Thursday when fifth. Was finding the line and will strip ready to go here.
SUIDELIKE MAJOR has been a disappointing horse but he won't get too many better chances to win but sometimes his genuineness has to be questioned. Will dictate terms again.
THE SPORTSMAN has taken a bit of time. Won a sedate trial at Pukekohe eight days ago after leading the majority of it.
WET FLIPFLOPS has continued to get better with time. Second in a workout in 2:45 was her best trial run. Respect the stable.
CLAUDIA SCHIFFER won a qualifier in 2:45 but gets a rotten draw first time out race day. Whether she will improve off the trial remains to be seen but is bred to be good.
THE MISSING SOCK has been to Cambridge twice for two placings and the two flops were at Auckland, so expect a better run back here.

Race 4 :

8 Son Of Patrick
9 Phoebe Imperial
4 Fira
11 Delson

SON OF PATRICK is unbeaten at Cambridge in three starts. Going back in the handicaps quickly, but he's the class act of this race. Top pick.
PHOEBE IMPERIAL made a very rare mistake last week but was good enough to place at Auckland the week prior. Surely won't make an error again tonight.
FIRA nearly beat Son Of Patrick January 21 and gets an extra 10m start over him tonight. Doesn't normally front up twice in a row being the only negative.
DELSON is struggling at the moment but does move forward to being only 30m behind so if he is to threaten these it should be tonight.
PRESIDENTIAL JEWEL looks a cup horse one week a struggler the next right now. No abnormalities were detected after the last start flop so watch her with interest.

Race 5 :

12 The Banker
11 Thee Old Bomb
7 Pull The Other Leg
3 Run Mason Run

THE BANKER slides into this race having had a dead heat win along the way making him the only three race winner in here. This is a huge drop in class and you know he can rough it.
THEE OLD BOMB did well first time out right handed January 22. Put together two strong wins here prior and can overcome the draw.
PULL THE OTHER LEG surprisingly couldn't run down Dixie Reign on the passing lane last week. That run was his first for six weeks so should have improved. One of the leading chances.
RUN MASON RUN annihilated his rivals when winning his maiden by five lengths. Still very green but with only two maidens on his inside he can go forward and stick on.
GRACELANDS ROSE and WHOOSHKA have been set for the conditions of this race but remaining a maiden and getting the two best draws. Both were unlucky to lose their maidens and the handbrake is sure to be released tonight.

Race 6 :

17 She Reigns
15 Rain Mist And Muscle
10 Monkey Selfie
12 Lady Be Good

SHE REIGNS faces a 40m handicap in this classic race. She was incredible winning off 35m over the 2200m last week but this will be a tough task. Still, the way she is trotting it's hard to bet against her.
RAIN MIST AND MUSCLE is finally showing the talent she's always possessed. A winner of three of her last four she has been set for this. Won a workout over Emma Frost at the workouts January 23. 30m is only negative.
MONKEY SELFIE is so in and out you struggle to get a handle on which one has turned up. Nearly won this race last year and she is much more reliable at Cambridge.
LADY BE GOOD was an average fifth two weeks ago. Looked closer to her best when beating Anditover and Delson at the workouts a week ago. But did trot a little rank late. Definitely one of the leading chances.
MOLLY BONES hasn't raced for eleven months and only one trial last Saturday is a worry. Wasn't pushed in that either and should need the run.
EMMA FROST sat parked and beat up premier opposition on December 31. Set for this also and had the blowout workout two weeks ago. The best chance off the front tape and has a big head start.
PEAKZ LUCK is a blowout hope and blame the last start flop on having three races in thirteen days and has been freshened.

Race 7 :

5 Hot And Treacherous
10 American Me
3 Brookies Jaffa
11 New York Minute

Can three year olds win both cups? HOT AND TREACHEROUS is sure to start favorite. Cops no handicap from winning a heat January 21. Stepped brilliantly on that occasion. Only question mark is the 2700m.
AMERICAN ME found the 20m tough last week. Another mid race move is required tonight but he's in career best form. A strong second pick.
BROOKIES JAFFA galloped in his first stand last week and ended up behind the back markers. Ran his last mile a second quicker than everything else and only needs to step away to be a big danger at odds.
NEW YORK MINUTE outsprinted them last week. Goes back another 10m for this but the pace will no doubt be on so that will suit.
JACK TAR and HIGH POINT are fast beginners who will try and make the back runners pay.

Race 8 :

8 Cloudy Bay
11 Captain Nemo
12 Jaccka Lucas
2 Pott Luck

CLOUDY BAY is a talent. Unsighted since August until a workout narrow second placing at the workouts last week behind Alta Sensation. Still a winnable race from barrier eight.
CAPTAIN NEMO was surprisingly run down last week but he's always a chance here. If anything he's a better chaser.
JACCKA LUCAS suffers a reversal in barrier draws tonight but he hasn't done a lot with them. Still not racing badly and this race has a long tail.
POTT LUCK did her chips January 21 with an early gallop. Trial form prior and this barrier draw suggests a return to form is likely.
Last time WAVETHEBILL raced was in the sires stakes final where he was outclassed. Hasn't shown much in his two trials but this is a winnable race.

Race 9 :

10 Eighteen Carat
2 Jimmy Richter
3 Itsthefinalcountdown
6 Emmi Rose

EIGHTEEN CARAT was great last time sectionals wise. One of the highest rated horses in the field and a winner of three against many who have only won one.
JIMMY RICHTER galloped away January 21 and that cost him. Has moved training establishments again, heading back to the Manawatu. The motor is big enough but the manners continue to be a worry.
ITSTHEFINALCOUNTDOWN went one of his best ever races last week. Sure to be thereabouts again.
EMMI ROSE is better than a thirty start one win mare. Didn't give it away after being parked throughout January 21. If she leads she's a big chance of blowing them out.
WITH REVENGE was a well beaten third last week but barrier one is a great help.

Best Bet; Race 1 (4) Te Amo
Each Way Value: Race 2 (7) Super Duper Dude
