Inter Dominions Officially Off
By Dave Di Somma - Harness News Desk
After weeks of speculation it’s finally been confirmed that the Inter Dominions will not be held this year.
The Inter Dominion Event Committee (IDEC) has confirmed the series at Menangle in Sydney will be postponed a year, with Victoria confirmed for 2022, a year later than originally scheduled.
Because of the COVID-19 pandemic the committee concluded there was no practical alternative to conducting the championship this year.
The Inter Dominions have been contested between the best horses in Australasia since 1936, with Alexandra Park hosting the most recent event in 2019, with Ultimate Sniper and Winterfell winning the pacing and trotting finals.
