Industry News: August 4

1. Purdon-Rasmussen team make up entire field

In what’s an unusual, and possibly even unique situation, all the runners in one race at Addington on Friday night will come from the same stable.

The All Stars have entered eight runners in race 3 (mobile pace $12,500, 3yo up to and including R60, 1980m),
including last start winners Darling Me, Bettor Twist and It’s All About Faith.

It’s believed to be a first though if anyone can remember this happening before please contact us at [email protected]

2. Milestones loom

Wins to Tim Williams and Jessica Young-Grant at Addington on Sunday have seen them edge closer to impending milestones. Young-Grant won at big odds on the veteran Alexy to notch up career win number 97, while Williams’ victory with Need You Know was his 496th.

3. Oamaru to host Kurow Cup

The Golden Fleece Hotel Kurow Cup will highlight the Kurow Harness Racing Club meeting at the Oamaru racecourse on Sunday August 16. The first race is at 12pm, entry is free and there’ll be free face painting and balloon twisting for the kids.

4. Kaikoura Club fund-raiser

Thanks to Alabar, the Kaikoura Trotting Club is pleased to be able to offer the following stallions for tender:

· One service to Art Major (valued at $14,000)

· One service to Majestic Son (valued at $5,000)

Tenders close at 5pm on Friday 11th September 2020. For enquiries and copy of Tender Form please contact Geraldine Stanbury 021 351 615 or email on [email protected]

5. Kiwi-bred in US first

Kiwi-bred veteran Flaming Flutter has given Australian driver Lauren Tritton her first driving win the United States. The dual Inter Dominion place-getter powered to an easy win in 1:51.8 at Yonkers in New York. It was Tritton’s first win in the USA and Team Tritton’s 12th from just 36 US starters since they moved their team from Australia earlier this year.
