Harness Jewels Update - April 29

It’s now under six weeks to the IRT Harness Jewels. The season defining raceday will feature nine Group One races, all worth $100,000, at Cambridge Raceway on June 6 and every week we will be checking in with Cambridge Raceway Chief Executive Dave Branch to see how things are progressing.

This week an exclusive offer is now open to all trainers who have horses racing at the Harness Jewels.

A 3m x 3m mini marque, complete with 10-seater table, is available for $400 plus GST. The marquees will be conveniently situated between the drivers’ room and the parade ring.

“It’s the perfect place for trainers to base themselves for the day,” says Cambridge Raceway Chief Executive Dave Branch, “The last time Cambridge held the Jewels in 2018 around eight marquees were used, and a similar number is expected this year.”

Food is not included in the price though trainers and their workers are welcome to bring their own and food will also be available for purchase in the area along with access to hot drinks and the Fiber Fresh parade ring bar.

Bookings are essential and anyone interested should contact [email protected] before Thursday May 6.

While the IRT Skyline lounge is now sold out (following on from the G.H. Mumm marquee) tickets are still available for the Clubhouse ($230pp) and the Speight’s Summit Ultra Sports bar ($120PP).

The popular Supporters package is also back. For $500 businesses have a one in 20 chance to win naming rights sponsorship of one of the nine $100,000 Group One races. Included in the price are two tickets to the Harness Jewels Eve function (valued at $100), five general admission tickets (valued at $100), and logo recognition on the supporters’ page in the official racebook.

This is limited to 20 businesses. Anyone interested should contacts Angelique 021 321272 ([email protected]).

Tickets to the Boys Get Paid area next to the winning post are also being sold, for $110 per ticket. The BGP Facebook page is the best place for more details.

We will have another update next week, as we count down to IRT Harness Jewels 2021.
