Dexter Dunn excels in Kentucky
Dexter Dunn’s year just keeps getting better by the week.
The 10-time champion Kiwi driver has just reined home five winners at Kentucky’s famous Red Mile circuit including yet another win on the unbeaten Party Girl Hill.
She has now won all 13 career starts for ex pat Kiwi trainer Chris Ryder. At the Crawford Farms Tattersalls Pace the daughter of Captain Treacherous triumphed over the boys by a length in 1:47.2. Unraced at two because of a stress fracture Party Girl Hill has been a sensation in North America and now accrued over a $NZ1m.
Dunn also won with another Ryder trained star in Bettor’s Wish in the Allerage Open pace. It was the horse’s fourth win from nine starts this season and 22th from 40 overall.
Paying $10 to win, Amigo Volo was also in the winner’s circle in the Kentucky Futurity, with his other two winners being Spoiled Princess and Kissin In The Sand.
According to US Trotting Association figures, Dunn is the top stakes-earner with over $NZ11m this year ($US7.779) with Yannick Gingras and Tim Tetrick more than a million behind.
He has driven 288 winners, to be ninth overall.
