Alexandra Park’s Summer Carnival: Oaks and Derby

Oaks and Derby combines premiere racing action, fashion, entertainment plus bottomless dining and beverage packages across two days in February and March. Ladies Night at Cambridge Raceway - Friday 21 February

Get your gal pals together for a very special edition of our popular Friday Night's Under The Lights series in support of Team Teal. $5 from every ticket will be donated to the Team Teal campaign - a NZ Harness Racing initiative where all female drivers in New Zealand wear teal coloured driving pants to help raise funds and awareness for Ovarian Cancer. The evening will also feature the inaugural running of the $30,000 Waikato Trotting Breeders' Stakes (2700m) for fillies and mares.

Waikouaiti Trotting Club - Sunday 23 February + Tuesday 25 February

The Waikouaiti Trotting Club would like to welcome the Owners/Trainers and Drivers to a complimentary Breakfast BBQ on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday mornings from 7:30am – 10:30am.


Stratford Trotting Club - Thursday 27 February

Stratford Trotting Club has our first twilight meeting. Racing starts at 3pm.

Free entry with kids entertainment including the Dairy Master Train, bouncy castle, Kidz Kartz and rides in the Kidz Kartz.

Racing featuring the Quintin Oakes Builders Stratford Cup and the Brian Darth Funeral Directors North Island Grass Track Trotters Cup.

All trainers and owners are invited to a pre-race night BBQ on Wednesday 26th of February from 5.30pm onwards, where a bbq dinner will be provided with subsidised drinks and raffles.

Those needing accomodation, TAB facilities, we recommend contacting Ian and Jude at the New Commercial Hotel 06 765 6364, they also have a great public bar and restaurant on site.

Bring a picnic and set up on the lawn to enjoy a fun filled community event.


Taranaki Harness Racing Club - Saturday 29 February

Taranaki Harness holds its Centenary Meeting Saturday 29th February.

First race is at 12.15am, and there is no admission for this celebration event. Attendees are welcome to avail themselves of this La Mer Lounge facilities and amenities.

We have a special package for the day – finger food luncheon, two drink tickets, race book, and reserved seating in the Scottish Charm Lounge for just $35 per person.

Big screen on course will show all the action from Derby Day at Ellerslie.

ANOTHER OPPORTUNITY TO GO IN THE MOOLOOLABA PRIZE DRAW AT INVERCARGILL

Another opportunity to go in a prize draw for a seven night stay at the Peninsular Beachfront Resort in Mooloolaba plus $1000 towards your airfares courtesy of Beach Road Holiday Park is available at the Invercargill Harness Racing Club’s twilight meeting at Ascot Park Raceway in Invercargill this Friday (21 February).

Locals can bring along a coupon from the 13 February issue of the Southland Express or if they do not have that opportunity grab a coupon on course and place it in the bucket in the foyer of the main stand.

A daily winner will be selected to join the first winner, Gavin Forbes, and other race day winners in the final draw on Diamonds Day in April.

The competition runs on every upcoming Invercargill Harness Racing Club date until Diamonds Day.

The meeting is an ideal start to the weekend with the first race timed to start at 3.40pm and the last at 8.08pm. Finish work a little early on Friday, enjoy the races and then have the weekend free.

A losing ticket draw after Race 6 will win one previously unlucky punter a $50 meal voucher courtesy of Level One Restaurant & Bar.

TEAL IS THE TICKET

The Northern Southland Trotting Club are inviting owners of teal coloured cars to bring them along to the Club’s Yaldhurst Hotel Team Teal Cup Day at Ascot Park Raceway in Invercargill on Saturday 7 March.

For a donation to the Teal Campaign the cars will be offered premium parking to form an impressive display at the course. Pre-registration is necessary.

There will also be a prize for the best teal themed boot party and spot prizes for those that dress up in teal on the day.

Let’s have a great day while raising money for this cause so put the word out for teal cars, boot parties and start preparing to dress in teal on Saturday 7 March.

Banks Peninsula Trotting Club - Saturday 15 March

Come join us for our Team Teal Race Day, which is also the final day of the Team Teal campaign for 2020.

Alicia Harrison who is one of the Team Teal North Island Ambassador's will be coming along as our guest driver. There will also be a female drivers only race.

For the first time we will be hosting a Fashion in The Field contest for both men and women over 18 years of age, and the theme of course will be 'A Touch of Teal'.  There are excellent sponsored prizes up for grabs, that are worth dressing up for!
