On 9th May 2021, new regulations under the Animal Welfare Act 1999 came into effect.

HRNZ is looking to introduce Code of Conduct and Social Media Policy Regulations.

Chris Morrison from Morrisons Saddlery will be available to complete WOF inspections at Westport, Richmond, Blenheim and Kaikoura 14-16 November 2020.

A new WOF is required every two years and the black WOF tag will expire on 31 January 2021.

These regulations are the Notifiable Surgeries and Procedures Regulations made by the Board under rule 305 of the New Zealand Rules of Harness Racing and Rules and clause 14. 4 of the Constitution of Harness Racing New Zealand Incorporated.

MPI require all horses being exported from New Zealand, to be microchipped with effect from 1 December 2019.

The ‘No Discretion’ system will take over from the extended ‘No Discretion Trial’ from Monday 14 October 2019.

The ‘No Discretion’ trial that was to conclude on 30 September 2019 has been extended by HRNZ for a further two weeks and will now conclude after racing on Sunday the 13th of October.
