$30,000 Late Quaddie at Ashburton

Harness racing Quaddie punters will have two big opportunities at Addington and Ashburton over Labour weekend.

There'll be a $20,000 Late Quaddie at Addington on Friday night following by a $30,000 one at Ashburton's mega Monday meeting.

Friday's quaddie starts at Race 8 (8.08pm) while Monday's first leg will also be Race 8 (4.40pm) and include the day's feature, the $60,000 NZB Airfreight Ashburton Flying Stakes featuring Marketplace, The Lazarus Effect and It's Tough (5.50pm).

Ashburton will also have guaranteed $10,000 First 4s on Races 4-11, starting with the $60,000 Group 2 Mid Canterbury Trotting Owners Ladies Sprint (2.15pm).

The TAB's new Place Extra option will be available on all races.

The option enables punters to bet on horses finishing in the top half of the field. For example there are top four place bets in fields of eight and top 7 in fields of 14.

Place extra bets can be placed in multi bets and also in same race multis.
