2023 Super Stable
LEADERBOARD
The Super Stable competition lets racing fans, or even newcomers to the sport, select which horses they think will shine brightest over the busy spring racing period.
The competition runs from the start date of October 5 until December 10 and entry is free at www.hrnz.co.nz
Contestants must choose 14 horses for their “stable”, 12 of which must be from the lists of horses for each age group provided by HRNZ, with two wildcard selections.
Each horse or wildcard is allocated a value and the combined value of each Super Stable must not exceed $750,000, so contestants need to be smart and strategic about which horses they “spend” the most money on.
To make Super Stable even more strategic there will be two trade windows where contestants can add or remove horses, the first after Ashburton Flying Stakes Day and the other window after NZ Cup week.
The 14 horses each contestant has running for them will secure virtual stake money in line with the money each of their horses win on the track, so a major race win will count for far more than two or three standard race victories.
Only stake money for running in the top 5 in New Zealand races will count.
Prizes
The prize pool for the Super Stable competition is huge courtesy of our partners at TAB, headlined by a $10,000 Whitsundays travel package. The prize include flights for 2 people (from any domestic NZ airport), 5 nights accommodation at Hayman Island Resort, travel insurance and $1,500 credit towards meals and/or activities.
Other prizes are
2nd: A $5,000 Luxury Queenstown Escape – flights, 3 nights at The Rees Queenstown, Gondola, Luge, Premium Dinner and an Onsens Soak.
3rd: A $2,000 PurePods getaway
There will also be weekly and monthly winners. The person with most amount of virtual money earned during a week will win a $50 Bonus Bet, and monthly winners (being the leader at the end of October, and November) will win a $250 Prezzy Card.

Trade Periods
There will be 2 trade periods during the competition where you can swap out your chosen horses. These will be Tuesday 24 October- Wednesday 25 October (after Ashburton's Magic Monday) and Monday 20th November - Tuesday 21st November (after Cup Week).
