HRNZ changes horse confirmation process

Over the last year Harness Racing New Zealand has been sending owners a ‘Confirmation of Horses’ email to confirm and update horse lists.

This process has been assisting with clearing up and clarifying our horse database, updating your client files, while aligning with our Horse Care Regulations.

As of the 20th of February, this email will no longer be sent to owners and will instead be sent to the Accountable Person. This is the person that is accountable for the horse currently in our database.

Potentially this could still be the owner or the nominated owner, if the horse is in a syndicate or owned by multiple people.

If the horse is in training or at the property of a licence holder the email will now be sent to the licensed person in charge of the horse, as they are accountable for your horse while in their care. To view more information regarding the accountable person please click here

HRNZ will only ask an accountable person to ‘confirm’ their horses every six months. It is the responsibility of the accountable person to update their horse records on their MYHRNZ as soon as practical.
