Bordeaux's new life - and it's not in the south of France
An 11 race winner on the track Bordeaux has started his Life After Racing journey.
The 10-year-old trotter has joined Harness Racing New Zealand’s HERO programme – HERO is a rehoming and re-educating programme designed to showcase the standardbred breed to the wider equine industry.
This will be a big change for Bordeaux, having spent his entire life with the Iggo family, who bred, owned and raced him.
Right now he’s under the expert guidance of HERO educator- Chanelle Dickie.
Over the next few weeks we will follow Bordeaux’s progress – and in this first video we talk to Philip Iggo to find out more about the horse, and why he’s decided to go with the HERO programme.
