10 Nui Ba Den: Loves this kind of assignment and a grass track. Escapes some good company up north. Should win.
13 Bobby T: Another grass track lover. Won’t mind a good speed and can have the last say at them with luck.
2 Stetson: Hasn’t been bad since joining new quarters and gets a good draw here to make the most of. Right in the fight.
9 Machs Mareta: Hasn’t had the greatest of luck in recent times but might not get a completely hopeless trip through here and can surprise.
3 It Wasn’t Me: Take encouragement off the third and fourth two and three starts back for this. Can jump and run and keep them honest.
7 Appearance: Big change is here is the swing in draws. Finally lobs a decent one. Can land on the speed and be right there when it gets serious.
2 Line A Love: Would be a popular success on a local track and last run was massive. Manners the key but certainly good enough.
10 Hashtag Faye: OK recently without setting the world on fire. Manners seem good which can be a big plus here. Have in.
5 Lottie Moon: Smart type back from a spell. Took on some red hot fields last campaign and wasn’t disgraced. Right in it.
16 Bring Back Leah: Shouldn’t be too far away in this field based on what we’ve seen in the career thus far.
4 Krystal Delight: Knocking on the door of a maiden success and sure to be right in the middle of the action here.
11 Atarah: Bold debut effort but not much luck since. Look for a big run here if things unfold nicely.
1 Buckskin: Big runs lately and provided there’s a clean getaway today should be right in on the action throughout.
18 Mongolian Conqueror: Going better than a maiden and won’t mind a good speed here. Can have the final say.
7 Uber Express: Plenty to like about the debut effort for second. Should punch forward and be handy throughout.
8 Daggy Lamb: Smart type who should be better for the trip to the coast and certainly good enough to play a role today.
15 Striking Gladiator: Hasn’t done much wrong in the career to date and even from the second row should be in the mix.
6 Bettor Grunter: Got better at Reefton than debut effort. Won’t be a maiden for too long and right man in the bike today.
3 The Flying Fijian: Astute stable brings this first starter to the mix. Handy draw and expected to go well here.
11 Jimmy D: Barrier issues last time out but does go OK and not the worst chance here with a bit of luck.
4 Call This Fun: Starting to hurt punters a bit but you know the day you leave him out he’ll do everything right and win.
10 Superfast Lad: In a rich vein of form and should appreciate staying in same grade after penalty free win last time.
6 Foreigner: In good nick and manners are the big key. Should trot onto the speed and be there when things get serious.
1 Sunnivue Phileah: Racing well without much luck. Orange jumps in the sulky which gets the attention. In the mix.
8 Markham Eyre: Has been racing without any luck recently and falls into a very winnable race here. Just needs the luck.
3 Szybka Lane: Led and defied them last week at The Mot. Back in form and meets a very even field here so well in the mix.
5 Geoff’s Legacy: All around it at the moment and with a half a shot at them here might not be the worst winning hope.
11 Madame Frost: Bit of encouragement in the last couple of runs. Certainly enough to suggest there’s something here.
12 Aleady Gone: Went beast mode on a similar field last week and a repeat effort would most likely see a repeat result.
10 Hands Up Jack: Bit of work last week told late but not a bad run all the same. Needs to be respected in this lineup.
8 Magicol Ideal: Gaps came when it was too late last week but nice work at the line. Has to be given a chance today.
5 Bonny’s Gem: Good run last time out and hints at a return to form. Can’t be dropped from this field from the good draw.
3 Vulcan Star: Hard not be impressed with the two wins back from a spell. Last one very good. Big chance of three in a row.
15 Bettathanfast: Progressive type who’s been taking on better fields than this. Just needs to step away cleanly.
9 Rocknroll King: Big win last time out and stays in a similar grade. Won’t mind having to do a bit of work and can win.
6 Fynn Frost: Loves these types of races and also loves a dog fight. Needs to get away quickly but could keep them honest.
5 Glen Elgin Tomson: No go from the stand last time out but mobile suits and has real high speed to unleash when possible.
4 Alta Endeavour: Nice type back from a spell and gets a good draw to work with. Should punch forward and go close.
6 Prodigal Guinness: Stepped up in grade nicely at Westport with a big effort for third. Can play a role here again too.
1 Duastar: Above expectations last time out and hints at really having turned the corner. Needs to be given a shot here.
9 Navara: A bit like the stablemate earlier in the day. All the ability in the world but still learning. Could just rock up and win this no problems.
16 Humble Ladd: Very impressive winning last time out and clearly on track for another win at short notice. Chance here.
5 Full Of Hope: Savaged in front last time out but is much better than that. Grass might sort things out. Not the worst.
15 Rebel Kibbybones: Not a lot of luck recently but could turn that around here with the right kind of run.
8 Look Sharp: Ran out of room in a better field last week at The Mot and with a nice trip here can have the last say and win.
11 Sister’s Delight: Too good for them at Reefton. Zippy wee pacer who could have the last say here and get another.
12 Distinguished Taste: Nice runs recently and in better fields than this. Should be able to play a role from the second line.
2 Vinnie Rulz: Hinted at a return to form last time out and wouldn’t be the worst here if things panned out early.
BEST: 5 Lottie Moon (Race 3)
NEXT: 5 Glen Elgin Thomson (Race 10)
VALUE: 15 Striking Gladiator (Race 5)
