IRT confirmed as Inter Dominion sponsor

IRT has confirmed its role as one of the most important sponsors in harness racing by securing the overall naming rights to the Inter Dominion to be held at Alexandra Park last this year.

The giant horse transportation company were the major sponsors for the recent Harness Jewels held at Addington and boss David Cole and his team loved the experience so much they have gone again.

They have the overall naming rights to the Inter Dominion, which will be run in conjunction with the Christmas at the Races carnival at Alexandra Park starting late November.

The series will be the first held in New Zealand since 2011 and will see the return of the pacing and trotting series to these shores after the trotting series were canned in 2012.
"We are thrilled to get IRT on board for what is going to be such a huge carnival," said ATC executive director Rod Croon.

"David and his team loved their time at the Jewels and we all know what a huge part of the equine industry they are in this part of the world.

"So to have them on board so early and to able to work toward the series with us is very satisfying."

IRT boss David Cole shared Croon's enthusiasm.

"IRT is very happy to be the naming sponsor of the 2019 Inter Dominions," said Cole.

"We are grateful to the Auckland Trotting Club for allowing IRT this opportunity as this event has been stepped in history between Australia & New Zealand for many years.
I am sure it will be an outstanding success for all concerned".
