NZMTC Director Nominations 2019
The NZ Metropolitan Trotting Club Inc., trading as Addington Raceway and Event Centre, is proud to be Australasia’s premier harness racing venue.
With a significant private land footprint in the city, a joint venture commercial property portfolio, NZ’s leading harness racing programme including the Christchurch Casino NZ Trotting Cup, and a 7 day a week catering operation including Spectators Bar and Bistro, we are a significant contributor to the Canterbury economy and community.
By rotation, four positions come up for election each year. Incumbents are all eligible for re-election. Our 850-strong membership will complete a postal vote for the four positions in early October, with the four successful directors being announced at the Annual General Meeting on Monday 14 October 2019. (Note: no vote will be required should we not receive more than four nominations by the due date).
Board Meetings are held monthly, generally on the last Tuesday of the month at Addington Raceway.
While the position is remunerated, no travel costs are reimbursed, and there is a significant voluntary attendance expected at racing events sponsored by the club throughout the year.
We are looking for suitably experienced nominations for the role of Director, with a focus on the following skills:
- Financial and risk management
- Corporate marketing and sponsorship
- Property and commercial development
- Technology development
- An interest in racing is preferable
The nomination form will allow you to:
- Confirm that you meet all obligations under the Rules of the NZ Metropolitan Trotting Club Inc.
- Provide key information that will be distributed to members as part of the voting process
Any nominations that are provided incomplete will not be taken forward to the voting process.
