House 10th at world championships

New Zealand's representative Michael House has finished 10th at the world amateur driving championships in Malta.

Eight heats were held overnight with Malta's Redent Magro producing a home country victory. He had two wins on the way to accumulating 73 points, one ahead of Germany's Emma Stolle.

Malta has now gone back to back at the championships, following Cliferty Calleja's win in Italy two years ago.

House finished with 41 points with his best performances being a second placing in Race 5.

The meeting was held at the Malta Equidrome with the championships attracting 12 drivers from around the globe.

House qualified for the world championships by winning the New Zealand amateur driving championships last year.

New Zealand has only won the world championships once. That was Gavin Cook's victory in 2008.
