Club of the Month - Invercargill HRC

Harness Racing New Zealand is thrilled to announce a new monthly feature, Club of the Month.

Similar to the Stable Shout concept where we recognize trainers who are exceeding expectations in terms of owners experiences, the Harness Racing New Zealand owners subcommittee wish to also acknowledge clubs who have gone above and beyond to ensure all owners (winning or otherwise) are looked after and appreciated on race day.

This month our winner is the Invercargill Harness Racing Club, which was nominated by Barry Dent.

Barry had very positive feedback about his experience at the recent Diamonds Day meeting which was held on Saturday 27 April.

The meeting hosted feature racing including the Alabar Southern Supremacy Stakes Final, the Macca Lodge/Nevele R Stud Southland Oaks and Diamond Creek Farm 2YO Classic all at Group 2 level.

It is the pinnicle of the Southern Harness season and draws owners from all over the country to compete.

Barry Dent said: "As an owner of a horse racing on Diamonds Day I was warmly welcomed when I received my owners privileges and advised of the facilities available."

"Southern Harness representatives, Kevin McNaught and Jason Broad, made themselves known to me during the day and were very helpful and accommodating to the owners oncourse."

"As usual the warm Southland hospitality was present, and you were looked after extremely well, whether your horse was successful or not."

Congratulations to the Invercargill Harness Racing Club and the Southern Harness team.

We encourage other owners to nominate a club they have had a positive experience with by emailing Jess Smith – [email protected]
