Club of the Month - Addington

Harness Racing New Zealand is thrilled to announce a new monthly feature, Club of the Month.

Similar to the Stable Shout concept where we recognize trainers who are exceeding expectations in terms of owners experiences, the Harness Racing New Zealand owners subcommittee wish to also acknowledge clubs who have gone above and beyond to ensure all owners (winning or otherwise) are looked after and appreciated on race day.

This month our winner is Addington Raceway, which was nominated by Wendy Morrison.

Wendy was part of a large syndicate of owners who won with Spellbound at Addington, and felt the club went above and beyond to cater for the large group of happy owners.

Given they could not all fit into the Breckon Winners bar, the Club made arrangements for the large group to be catered for in a lounge upstairs, shouting a celebratory beverage for every member.

“I have recently become involved in harness racing ownership on the 22nd of Febuary 2019, I was lucky enough to be involved with Spellbound in her win at Addington.

The recognition we received after winning the race was simply outstanding.

From when we rocked down to the birdcage to when we left the presentation we could not have been looked after better.

I was one among a group of one hundred and thirty owners.

The speech from the club representative has further indorsed my appetite to return to Addington to hopefully experience it all again especially with the Harness Jewels looming.”

We congratulate the Addington Raceway for going the extra mile for owners and encourage other owners to nominate a club they have had a positive experience with by emailing Jess Smith – [email protected]
