Addington Raceway and Events Centre – Saturday 1 June

IRT Harness Jewels FAQ

As we count down to the 2019 IRT Harness Jewels, Addington Raceway and Harness Racing New Zealand wish to pass on the latest information on our most frequently asked questions this week.

Patron entry off Wrights Road only

Please note that due to an event being held at Horncastle arena on Saturday afternoon, patron entry for the IRT Harness Jewels will be by Wrights Road only. There will be parking attendants present to assist with parking locations also.

Float entrance access will be as usual.

Public Areas on Jewels day

Please note that there is just an entry fee of a gold coin donation at the gate this Saturday, all proceeds will be going directly to St John, so too will a portion of the sales for the meeting’s race book.

The public will have access to many areas on course, including the lawns in front of the main stand, Twiggers indoor area (Free For All Lounge) and also to the public village marquee which is located on the stable rooftop.

The rooftop area has uninterrupted elevated views of the track.  It will offer a marquee with a mixture of tables, leaners and couches, a food and beverage outlet, TAB facilities and Trackside TV’s so you don’t miss any of the action.

To assist with viewing on the day, alongside the existing permanent big screen there will also be a second 40m2 screen erected opposite the public marquee and stables to ensure coverage is visible from all angles of the public area.

The Free For All Lounge is located on the ground floor of the Twiggers Stand. It includes comfortable lounge facilities including large screen, Trackside TV’s, TAB facilities, a range of tasty hot and cold snacks and cash bar facilities. There is also access to the Lindauer Lawn so you don’t miss all the action.

Please note also that Spectators Bar & Bistro will remain open after the last race so you can stay on and watch the Crusaders vs Chiefs live on the big screen – kick off 7.35pm.

Owners Packs and Areas

All owners who had an email address registered with HRNZ have been sent an email from Addington Raceway outlining the owners pack information and collection times.

Each owner will receive two owner’s lanyards and two drink vouchers.

The drinks vouchers can be redeemed in the Sapphires Lounge and/or at the owner’s bar on Blanc de Blanc Lawn (in front of the Breckon’s Winners Bar).   Owners are encouraged to enjoy their drink vouchers at the owner’s bar prior to their race before moving to the seating bowl to enjoy all the action.

Collection times for packs from the Addington Raceway office:

Wednesday 29 May – Friday 31 May between 9.00am – 4.00pm

Saturday 1 June from 10.30am onwards.

Please note these will need to be collected by owners on an individual basis.

Please also be aware that the health and safety of all patrons and licence holders is a priority for HRNZ and Addington Raceway, so there will be a limit of ten owners at a time visiting their horse in The Stables.

Syndicate managers are asked to please be aware of this for health and safety reasons and plan to allow owners to see their horse in a safe manner in line with the guidelines.

Also for owners there will be access to the Sapphire Lounge. Located on Level 1 of the Metropolitan Stand, it’s all about the racing. There will be large screens with all the live action, TAB facilities and a range of tasty deli food and cash bar facilities available.

Please present your owners pass, NZMTC members badge or affiliated club badge to our host on arrival.
