8 Monkey Selfie: Won last handful of workouts and trials with a bit of authority. Has the breeding on the board too so ticks a few boxes. Manners the question on debut, but no doubt the motor.
3 Madeakillin: At this point the only horse to have beaten Monkey Selfie in public and did it twice. Patiently handled and clearly has some upside.
11 Manchester On Fire: Showed a bit of ability in workouts and trials ahead of tonight’s debut. From the right stable so an each way hope.
12 Lukyanova: One with some race experience and with two placings from four starts clearly a capable contender too. Galloped last week, but prepared to forgive.
2 A Bettor Act: Much more like it last time out and on best behaviour which is the most important aspect. Has to be considered a strong hope from tonight’s draw.
4 Best Western: Capitalised on the sweet trip to win the Group One last time out. This could be a bit harder against some nice types, but always a chance.
5 Mohs Em Down: Came home well from a wide draw last weekend – a little better off here and a chance if able to slot into the right spot.
10 Tiger Swift: Capable mare who might be better suited off the second line here where she can stalk and then pounce on them.
12 Heavyweight Hero: Took a pretty smart one to beat him last time. Fitness at a maximum and provided her trots, they’ll be chasing his tail.
14 Gerswhin: Really living up to the hype at the moment and trotting big a boldly. Good third behind classy types last time out so right in contention here.
13 Pres The Belle: Joins the Robert Dunn team. Super smart trotting mare when on the top of her game and a bold display here would be no surprise at all.
9 Forget The Price Tag: Progressive trotter who has been handy in last couple of runs. This is tough but more than capable of finishing in the top four.
11 Revolver: Smart type back from a freshen up. Won a workout last weekend and did it really nicely. Stable junior on board too so ticking a couple of boxes.
5 Just Wing It: Up in company last week and was bold in effort for third. Has more upside than most here and shouldn’t be too far away from them when things get serious.
6 Betterthankaty: Been a revelation since joining the North Island scene. Big wins in last two appearances. Harder again here, but headed in the right direction.,
3 Jacks Shadow: Another who is enjoying life as a North Island horse. Good efforts in last couple of and drawn to get on the speed here which will be a plus.
5 The Blue Beat: Galloped away last week, but there’s a bit of a motor there when on best behaviour. Prepared to give one last chance and with manners a win here is no surprise.
1 Rocknroll Rod: Will be a whole heap better for the experience of a first look up here last week. Good draw again and form was very good in Canterbury. Can win.
9 Governor’s Bay: Grinding type who is probably slightly hamstrung by draw. Right driver in the bike to make the best of a tricky situation.
3 Sheffield Sparky: Clearly plenty to work with judging by most recent efforts. On the up and ticking along well and a good chance here once again.
6 On The Cards: Placings behind Jack’s Legend look even better now considering his recent form. Will relish his absence tonight and look to make the most of it. A big chance.
4 Mach Shard: Right back in form and racing like the Mach Shard of old. No surprise to see him take the bull by the horns here and make this race his own.
9 Dibaba: Smart mare who was stunning last week. Better when saved for the one run at them and will get that opportunity here. Right in the middle of it.
8 No Doctor Needed: Hasn’t had much luck since resuming. Just wonder if they might try and buzz the gate and get on the speed here. Can run top four if that’s the case.
4 Alexia Rose: Showed some real strength in workouts and trials and from a family that just gets out and runs. Expecting good things and it should all start tonight.
8 Happy Place: Favourite last week and not much went right. Tough draw here, but good enough to try and overcome it and end up in the right place.
6 Bad To The Bone: Some strong workout and trial form in the bank ahead of tonight’s debut. Should be heading forward early and giving them all plenty to think about.
9 Ball Of Art: Showed a bit of upside in debut effort for second at Cambridge. Experience the key and can go better here, but will need too from inside second line draw.
4 Sunny Pegasus: Two strong seconds in last two starts and manners are usually impeccable. Will land in a good spot and give supporters a strong each way cheer.
6 Miss Blissful: A little like the above, never far away from the action and with the right run is a big winning chance. Might get that tonight and grab a deserving win.
14 That Girl Of Mine: One from one and now part of the Dickie team. Has the motor, but maybe lacks the ring craft. Definite win chance.
12 Caitlin’s Surprise: Back with Derek Balle now and in good form. Bold second last time out and should be able to navigate around this field.
7 Tiffany Rose: Got close to Sweet On Me, well about as close as anyone has, last time out. That form will stack up for a while. Huge winning chance here.
5 Delightful Catherine: Bit of upside judging by workouts and trials. Right stable, right driver and one you certainly can’t leave out of the mix.
6 Little Miss Perfect: Never further back than fourth in three career starts. Experience over some rivals too. Top hoop in the bike as well. Each way.
1 Ab Fab: Should a bit of talent with a second in a recent trial. That should be good enough to be considered a contender off the inside draw tonight.
BEST: 6 On The Cards (Race 6)
NEXT: 12 Heavyweight Hero (Race 3)
VALUE: 5 The Blue Beat (Race 5)
