Race 1

4 Olivia Rachel: Joins the Telfer barn after doing some good things for Cran Dalgety down in Canterbury. Has more upside than most here and if she handles the first look at The Park, she’s going to be hard to beat.

5 The Stunning Nun: Has Been taking on some pretty hot fields recently so will relish the escape from the elite company for today’s assignment. Definite player.

6 Dina Brown: No superstar, just a genuine honest horse will plenty of upside who will appreciate the small nature of tonight’s opposition and should have a role to play.

2 Eyespywithmylittleye: Has a bit of form on the board which puts her ahead of some of her other rivals in this. Good draw to work from so has to be considered for multiples.

Selections: 4-5-6-2

Race 2

7 Double Rocket: Mixing it with the big guns last week and while beaten, was far from disgraced. Has to come off the outside of the front line here, but is more than capable of handling that assignment.

2 Accelere: Talented horse, but not always in the best of the luck department. Good draw and a small field tonight will help the chances, expecting a big run.

1 Rocknroll Rod: Comes to the North Island off the back of four very strong starts on the mainland. Clearly has a future and should give this a good shake from the inside draw.

5 L L Cool J: Been good in four career starts to date and won’t have to go much better to be a player in tonight’s assignment either. Needs a trip, but dangerous with one.

Selections: 7-2-1-5

Race 3

6 Kratos: Probably the most talented horse in the field, but does have a couple of tricks up the sleeve. If he gets away with them on terms, they might not catch him.

5 Majestic Moment: New graduate to the Robert Dunn barn, always held in high regard down in Canterbury and does have real high speed when the opportunity presents itself.

3 Prince George: Short course specialist who will look to jump and run here. Any mistakes from key rivals and he’ll give them plenty to chase when they turn for home.

4 Puma Road: Chased a couple of smart ones last time out and is getting better with racing and growing in confidence. Shouldn’t be too far away in this field.

Selections: 6-5-3-4

Race 4

1 Just Wing It: Well overdue success last time out from new quarters. Gets the plum draw to work with here and has fitness on side over key rivals. Should be hard to hold out.

2 Benson Buys: Back from a spell after doing a grand job last campaign. Good draw and the right man in the bike to make it work. Has to be considered a strong winning hope.

8 Mohs Em Down: Comes out a very strong field last week for this, but gets the tricky draw which won’t help things. Good enough to play a big part – but will need some lucky.

6 A Bettor Act: The blow out horse here. Won a Sires’ Stakes heat earlier in the season but not always genuine. Best behaviour and he’s right in the fight tonight.

Selections: 1-2-8-6

Race 5

1 Adieu Flirt: In great form and has been racing in fields much stronger than this. Should jump and run from the pole and look to give them plenty to think about.

4 The Blue Beat: Not much luck in the Northern Oaks, will appreciate getting away from that company for this assignment today. Has to be a leading contender.

6 MT Pockets: Free wheeling pacer who, if in the right mood, could run them off their feet here. Might not find the front quite as easy but will try and wear rivals down.

9 Triolet: Built nicely to the maiden win last time out and into a field today with a good draw that could see another positive result. Should be no worse than three fence.

Selections: 1-4-6-9

Race 6

11 Recco Lover: Fourth behind Jack’s Legend and co. last week, that’s very good form for a race like this. Has to come off the 20m, but good enough to do it and win.

9 Mach Shard: Back racing in fine fettle again and building on that confidence he should produce another bold effort here today in what is a wide open field.

3 Mr Kiwi: Still not quite sure how good he is, but should be better for a run up here and will continue to improve. Sneaky chance off the front tape.

10 Check In: Some really good runs in recent efforts and in here quite nicely. Would be no surprise to see a top four finish with things falling into place.

Selections; 11-9-3-10

Race 7

8 Sole Ambition: Barry Purdon trained debutant with a bit of upside judging by workouts and trials. Wide draw is no help, but should have a big role to play in tonight’s assignment.

6 Catch The Dream: In great form and building nicely towards a winning turn you would have to think. Not a deep field here so with the right run, has to be a chance.

9 Happy Place: Two good runs back from a spell and should get a nice trip here from the second line. Can pick and choose when to get into the race and offer a strong top three option.

1 Betterbrook: Good run fresh up from a spell and comes up with the perfect barrier draw for this assignment. Can be a player in an open field.

Selections: 8-6-9-1

Race 8

7 Betterthankaty: Stunning win when last produced here and should be able to go on with it tonight in what isn’t a very deep field. Expecting a big run.

1 Jack’s Shadow: Up from Manawatu where the runs haven’t been too bad. In form and confidence levels are up so a good chance tonight.

6 El Capitan: Ultra consistent performer who is never far away from the action. Into a nice race for him tonight and with any luck he should be filling a top three spot.

8 Bugalugs: Doesn’t really go a bad race, just gets out and gets it done. Wide draw again, but a bit of luck and he’s a chance.

Selections: 7-1-6-8

Race 9

5 Thatgirltrouble: Nice run fresh up last week and should be better for it today. Will jump and run so gives supporters a bit to cheer about. Nice chance at a good each way quote.

4 Miss Blissful: Never far away from the fight and into this race really nicely. Expecting a run that will get her right back in form tonight and to be one of the hardest to beat.

7 Fira: Continues to build in form with another good fourth last time out. Might be able to land in the right spot here and give them a bit of a fright late.

2 Anditover: Good win at Cambridge last time out. Clearly a talented enough trotter. No reason why it can’t happen again.

Selections: 5-4-7-2

BEST: 7 Betterthankaty (Race 8)
