2 Gunners Coin: Good Addington run last time out. That’s worlds away from this assignment today. He should be just simply lining up and winning for fun.
10 Flying Taine: Big effort in defeat at Cambridge on Thursday night. Good enough to run second here again.
5 Leesa Castleton: Has made a productive start to the career. They’re all chasing a fairy tale here today, but a good place chance at least.
8 Shona Mary: Manners are good, which is a big plus in a race like this. No superstar, but a genuine place hope.
7 American Me: Lovely debut run for second at Otaki. Cops a wide draw here. But seems more than capable and should be going pretty close here today.
2 Ain’t Nothing Bettor: In grand form and really hit the line with purpose last time out. Draws the best of the contenders here so a natural include.
12 Milner: Ticking along nicely so far in the career. Meets an even but handy field here, will need luck to win but can if the chance presents itself.
5 Khal Drogo: Had shown a bit of potential before debut effort which left a few tongues wagging. Bit easier here so can be a player.
3 Pay Me Well: Had shown promise prior to West Coast circuit and turned in some tidy performances. Now a part of the Michael House team and Blair Orange is driving. Do we need to say anymore?
1 Sporting Miss: Opened the career with a bold second at Rotorua. Gets the plum draw here and should be right on the speed throughout so a realistic each way chance today.
4 Arty Pharty: Good runs in last two appearances, but has been going pretty good in general most of the season. Has to be given serious consideration today again.
12 Ideal Tiger: Doesn’t know how to run a bad race, but does often find bad luck. Tricky draw, but hitting the line strongly again today.
2 Rozzano: On speed horse who if in front here today might not be able to be caught. Won impressively at Roxburgh in similar conditions at the start of 2019 and with the same here no reason why a win can’t come again.
8 Mockingjay: Backed up maiden win here with a stunning Wyndham victory. Bit trickier from this draw, but you’d leave out at your own peril.
10 Dana Dawn: Been busy, but races well like that. Taken on much stronger fields than this recently so shouldn’t be too far away from when things get serious.
1 Jack’s Shadow: Up here from Canterbury and gets the perfect draw. Should be on the back of the right horse and with one shot at them, would be hard to beat.
8 Rock N Joy: Mark Jones trained pacer who ran a cracking second at Motukarara two starts back. Handy enough horse and repeat of that run will see a good result here.
10 Blarney Babe: Now with Michael House. That grabs the attention straight away. Can run, but does have a few tricks up the sleeve so a caution is sitting next to the name.
6 Itsokbeingbetter: Has turned in some good performances this campaign and gets into an even looking field here so shouldn’t be too far away from the action.
2 T C Business: Honest toiler who is no star, but certainly good enough to fill a top four spot in this line up today.
9 Westar Sam: The penny appears to have finally dropped judging by the two strong Otaki wins. This is a bit harder, but no reason why it can’t be three in a row.
5 Maddisons Desire: Handy pacer now with Michael House. Has real speed, but needs to be saved for that one shot at them. Strong late here.
3 The Kapiti Express: Promising pacer who has been pretty good in recent efforts. Good draw here and might just look to light them up early and keep them honest.
2 Kotare Costa: Won maiden in find style down in Canterbury but tough in two runs since. Not the worst in this line up.
8 Cyclone Banner: Won fresh up very impressively and not too bad in strong Auckland races since. This should seem a whole lot easier today and with any luck a win can eventuate.
6 Anna Barclay: Unbeaten on the track and will relish being back up here again. Can grind her way into the race and keep them all very honest.
7 The Night Hawk: Two strong runs to introduce himself to the North Island racing scene. Tough draw, but good enough to overcome it.
9 The Bandit Queen: Disappointed last time, but prior efforts good and has raced here very well in the past. Can swoop on them in the final stages.
9 Zsa Zoe: Ford runner with a bit of form on the board. Should enjoy escaping the rich Canterbury trotting grades and make the most of this excursion north today.
11 Majestic One: Low-flying in last couple but gives some nice ones a big head start here. Will need to fly the tape and get handy quickly to be a winner.
10 November Guy: Perhaps a little more effective on the all weather. Handicaps are no worries and should be a good each way hope in this line up.
7 She’s Allthe Craze: Up from Canterbury where the shifts have been honest. Manners are very good so no issues there. Dangerous with a quiet run and then unleashing.
4 Jenora: Should relish getting back into this part of the world after taking on strong fields at the top of the South Island. Big win when last produced here and can win this.
6 Bill Haley: Enigmatic, but talented. All at sea last time but back to the mobile here which can help turn things around. Won’t die wondering.
10 Ally Mae: In great nick and handled the rise in grade very well last time out. Draw might not work out all that bad to be fair. Don’t leave out.
7 Shillelagh: Loves this place and will be happy to be back here. Fitness levels should be right on the money and with Blair Orange in the bike, there’s every chance of success.
BEST: 2 Gunners Coin (Race 1)
NEXT: 8 Cyclone Banner (Race 7)
VALUE: 4 Jenora (Race 9)
