1 Total Diva: Paul Court trained first starter by Terror To Love. Workout and trial form would suggest a bold debut run is on the cards and with Blair Orange in the bike, things look even more promising.
5 Gemma Mac: Tried hard behind a pretty smart one on Thursday. Good enough to suggest another bold run is on the cards here today.
3 Live Sport: Canterbury raider who will be here to win. Has shown enough in workouts and trials to suggest a winning turn would be no surprise.
2 Southern Belle: Well bred debutant from the Larsen barn. Well school and looks better than your average 2YO.
3 Smokin Bandar: Everyone has something to say about this one. Not a lot of luck on debut but expected to turn that around and win here today.
4 Star Dude: Three seconds in last four starts tell the story. Has chased some smart ones too. Manners are great so no flaws. Great place bait.
2 Spur To Action: Might have been a little unfairly touted as being a lot better than perhaps he is. Still a chance today if the manners are there.
1 Inessa’s Dream: Good encouraging signs two starts back and patiently handled since. Not the worst hope.
2 Tara Bromac: Should strip a whole lot fitter for the run on Thursday. Good draw should see a positive drive and a winning turn against this line up.
9 The Great Buzz: Solid start to the racing career. Might not get a bad run through from the second line here and shouldn’t be too far away when things get serious.
7 Offthebench: Astute stable and qualified with a bit in store. One of many chances outside of the top two here with a hope of filling a top four spot.
8 Calico Hill: Good run for third on Thursday. Really encouraging. Wide draw doesn’t help, but still a good top four chance.
2 With The Stars: Steering issues at the wrong time last time out. Good draw and a good chance of success today with any luck. Won’t get many better chances.
5 Hans Ideal: Continues to slip under the guard, but run great races. Expecting the same kind of effort today in a wide open field.
9 Delight N Gold: Inside of the second line draw should just about work out perfectly. From a quiet run there’s every chance of a win here today.
3 Shuzi: Has a motor, but not fully genuine yet. Good chance today from a good draw. Might just need to cut the ribbons and put them to the sword.
2 Rock On: Probably the best horse in the race but often doesn’t show it. Good draw means another positive drive and with peak performance should win.
11 Raffy Roo: Not a lot of luck in last few. Goes pretty good and best would go close to winning this even from the tough draw.
7 Red Terror: Joins the Saunders team. That’s usually a recipe for success in this part of the world. Looking for a big run.
12 Jody Direen: Loses some of her usual advantage from the draw but might swoop on them late and try to blow them off the track.
3 Major Sass: Created a bit of an impression with smart debut win on Thursday. Looking for another win here and gets a good chance to grab it too.
1 Lady Flame: Thursday’s other impressive debut winner. Not sure if the one draw is really suitable but big respect all the same.
4 Tartan Robyn: Big swing in draws and a naturally aggressive driver might just net a really good result here. Especially if on the speed.
10 Wolf West: Fitness should be right where it needs to be. Not a deep field and he holds fewer queries than most.
8 King Cassidy: Got it wrong last week, but better than that. Manners the big watch but good enough to win if in the right mood. A risky prospect but a raw talent.
10 War Admiral: Dominant the other day. When he’s on, he’s on and it’s hard to beat him. Similar effort and they’ll chase him home again.
6 Super Fast Pat: Untapped talent but still learning the game. You’ll know if you’re in play after just a few hundred metres.
7 Spotlight The Valley: No faults in this runner. Just an honest, genuine contender. Will get handy and be there when things get serious.
7 Tact Maggie: Back in familiar areas after a profitable Canterbury campaign. Dour mare who won’t mind putting her rivals to the sword here.
9 Direct Control: Prepared to forgive the last one. Was too good in runs prior to that to drop completely. Stable and driver respect too.
8 Sagwitch: A repeat of the effort two starts back and they might not see which way things go here. Just needs to step away, race kindly and be near enough turning for home.
2 Vintage Cheddar: Fresh up from a spell and given a good solid build up. Did some good things last campaign and no forlorn hope today.
4 Mighty Flying Art: Keeps finding one better. Handier to the speed here though and should be able to dominate his rivals and be very hard to beat.
7 Ready To Rumble: They wanted nothing else fresh up and he duly delivered. Wide draw but will likely roll forward and look to give the face something to think about.
6 Donegal Mary Francis: Is only going to be better for Thursday’s run. Tricky draw but likely to slide forward and look to be handy.
13 Omar Sharif: Talented pacer back in action. Tough draw but can work into late and be the surprise packet.
BEST: 7 Tact Maggie (Race 8)
NEXT: 4 Mighty Flying Art (Race 9)
VALUE: 8 War Admiral (Race 7)
