9 Selena Franco: Freshened since a productive Central Otago circuit. This lineup is no different so a forward showing is expected today.
1 Shardan Suzie: Fresh up today but did hit the line nicely in a recent Methven workout. Should be ready and can make the presence felt from the inside draw.
10 Queen Of Glory: Loves the amateur racing scene and quite likes a grass track too. Nice run might just pan out here in front of her and from there she’ll play a part.
8 Paul’s Verdict: In great form at the moment and this grade might just be right up his alley. Gate speed early if they want to use it.
8 Baxter: First starter from the Greg and Nina Hope stable who has looked above average in workouts and trials. Oh, did we mention he’s the half-brother of Monbet. That should make you want to get involved.
9 Jimmy Carter: Also a first starter, this one from the Williamson barn. Family of good trotters and shouldn’t be too far away here based on workout and trial form.
7 Ruby Seddon: Ran out of room when looking to get into last Sunday at The Mot. Clear air here and top three finish is no surprise.
11 Rites Of Zhou: Didn’t get warm from well back last Sunday. Needs to be handier but certainly good enough to play a role.
10 Jafa Kitten: Made up stacks of ground on Sunday at The Mot to finish fifth. Needs to behave herself but on song she’s going to be hard to hold out in this line up.
6 Bella Veloce: Been a maiden a lot longer than she probably should have been. Won’t get many better chances than this to get the maiden win.
5 Jims Mama: Has shown a bit of promise in short career to date. Not a deep field so a top three chance for sure.
4 Lookingforareaction: Taking a line from the fourth in second start. That was good enough to offer a repeat performance here.
2 Bound To Impress: Got home with some real venom last time out. Has performed here in the past and it’s a very even field. Just needs the right run and a win should come.
10 Fortune Tiller: Found the line strongly last Sunday in a stronger field than this. Bit of luck required from the draw but a player all the same.
4 Rozzano: Gate speed horse who goes best on the speed and making others chase. Big chance of that today. Should be there when things get serious.
5 Sky City King: Spotted hitting the line strong up the lane last week at The Mot. This field is no stronger, so a good place hope at least again.
6 Foreigner: Huge run after an early gallop last week. Made up stacks of ground that would suggest he’s a big chance here if he can get away on even terms.
1 Highland Star: Another great run last time to finish second. One draw makes it interesting but with manners, it’s game on.
7 Larch: Got the win from new quarters last time out. No forlorn hope again today either especially in a very wide open affair with plenty of chances.
3 Sunny Glenis: Knocking on the door and running great races - just not grabbing it. Likely to offer up plenty of hope here again today.
9 Katie Daly: Back to the grass here and into a race well within range. Should be able to get the so far elusive maiden win against this field without too much trouble.
10 Art Banker: Lovely workout last Saturday at Methven suggest a bold display in a fresh state today would be no surprise.
1 Reatorre: Ticks along OK and gets the perfect draw to make the presence felt. Should be near the speed throughout and not too far away at the business end of things.
7 Mynanasgotnoteeth: Gone off the boil a bit after showing some encouragement. Not a strong field so good chance to get back to form here.
8 Enhance Your Calm: Unbeaten rising star back for a new campaign. Latest trial was OK but he’ll come on from that. Class takes him a long way here.
7 Full Noise: Untapped talent who was flawless last time out. Tougher assignment here, but good enough to push the favourite close.
3 Carlton: Interesting runner of the field. Has an abundance of talent, but maybe not quite there yet. Still expecting a strong performance.
5 Get Lucky: Speedy customer who if allowed to find the front will make the others aware of the presence. Can’t be disregarded.
7 Kotare Yolande: Less said about Omakau debacle the better. Brilliant on debut and if the behaviour comes along on the float then they are chasing a fairytale to beat her.
5 Vinnie Rulz: Did it as she liked when winning last Sunday. Way too good. Should hold the form with no real rise in grade from last week’s win.
9 Mad Lu Li: Likes it here and ignore the last start. Was very good fresh up behind Mossdale Rose, look for her late today.
11 Feel The Money: Still having issues which are plaguing the performances. Her best would go close here.
7 Maurice: Wiped out at Motukarara last week, but was well supported and expected to go close. Better luck here surely. Hard to beat.
5 Artfilly Crafted: Showed she’s a horse with plenty of potential with strong workout win last weekend. Still learning but the raw talent is there for sure.
4 American Flyer: Plenty to like about the debut effort for fourth last week in a similar field. Should be a player again here.
3 Taumalolo: Opened the career with a professional effort for second last Sunday. Similar run likely to unfold here so a good chance once again.
3 One Apollo: Best horse in the race and a repeat of the run two starts back would be good enough to win this for fun. Just needs to put it all together to get the result.
8 Young Stranger: Loves this place and in good form. Won’t mind having to do a bit of work and trying to run them into the dirt. Big chance again today.
11 Chief Of Staff: Given a slight let up after some good runs late last year. Well in commission today in a wide open field.
13 One Over Da Skye: Has the motor, but not the manners in last few appearances. Risky, but very good when on song.
10 Di Caprio: Good runs at Blenheim. Progressive pacer who can make his own luck here today and give his rivals plenty to think about. Can beat himself at times though, so not a certainty.
11 Essence Of Easton: Big win last Sunday and another here would be a popular result for the locals. No reason why it can’t happen again either.
8 Gimmefiveminutesmore: Drops out of Nelson Cup class company for something a little easier. Should stand up well especially back on the grass.
14 Overarm: Unlucky in stronger company last week but not going to get the same run here from the handicap. Has to be a player still all the same.
BEST: 7 Kotare Yolande (Race 8)
NEXT: 9 Katie Daly (Race 6)
VALUE: 2 Bound To Impress (Race 4)
