3 JB Mauney: Run down by a pretty smart one last week when looking to have the race at his mercy. Should be improved today and hard to beat from a handy draw.
5 Ideologist: Doesn’t run bad races. Ever. Will look to storm at most of these late with any luck in the running and can be a major player.
6 Takemybreathaway: They wanted plenty of it on debut and got the chocolates in fine style. Clearly has some upside so watching to see how the rise in grade goes.
10 Mini Mine Yet: Been faultless in the career to date. Good runs at Nelson and follows speed well which is good considering the draw tonight. Look out late.
5 Monrika: Never got a crack at them last week and appeared to be travelling super. Clear air at the top of the straight and look out for her booming home.
15 Jerry Garcia: Late clearing a pocket last week but boomed when clear. In good nick and capable of putting his rivals to the sword here.
6 Riteur: Another who didnt get the best of luck last week. Might through caution to the wind here tonight.
13 Galleon’s Glory: Did a bit of work last week and didn’t shirk the challenge late. Dangerous prospect here who could easily slip under the guard.
1 Doctor Tim: The run of form continued last week with good effort for second last week. Drawn well and should be hitting the line with venom again.
3 Warloch: Swing in draws from last week can make all the difference tonight. Going much better than a casual look might suggest. Can be a major player here.
2 Nota Bene Denario: All around it at the moment, but not quite grabbing it. Seems best with a cold shot. Looking for that here.
14 Franco Texas: Hit the line strongly last week which was good to see for him. Same tactics here? Good place chance.
5 Noosa Beach: Really impressed by this guy at the Ashburton trials last week. Loved the way he covered the ground. Favourite is smart, but he’s not far behind if not level or better.
3 Copperfield: Ticking along beautifully for this in public hit outs. Right colours on board. Dangerous.
7 Flying Even Bettor: Nicely bred colt with a bit of upside about him. Expect him to be well schooled and should be a player.
4 Mongolian Marshall: Paul Court trained runner who has been good in workouts and trials. Might just stand up here and try and bully them.
11 Majestic Hurricane: Smashed them last week from the stand but is a much better prospect behind the mobile. Should slide into and power his way to victory.
5 Scarlett Banner: The heart-break horse of summer. Mobile is a bit assist here and should get here feet moving nicely early. Has to be a chance.
2 One Over Da Skye: Motor = huge. Manners - minimal. Sort the second option out and it’s game on. Especially from a good draw. But risky.
1 Michelle: Jogged it last week. Up in grade here, but shouldn’t be left out of calculations. A good top four contender.
8 I’ve Already Told You: Big run last time out in a good field. Probably a strong line up than this. Loves grinding and from this draw should be doing exactly that. Hard to beart.
5 Sezana: Back from the North Island where things were good in very strong fields. Should make her presence felt tonight.
6 Anytime: Draw didn’t help last week but should slide forward tonight and end up in a much better position to be a player in a good even field.
3 Chitura: Showed a bit of the class last time out with a good win. Looks set for a good second half of the season.
7 Great Things Happen: Won last week, but still not his absolute best it would seem. Should still be too slick for them tonight but wouldn’t take anything too short.
5 Belles Son: Back from the North where things went OK. Nice final run to the trip and that should stack up nicely here.
3 Sundon’s Flyer: Can fly the tape and the 10m shouldn’t hold back form being the leader early doors here. Nice trip and a definite place chance.
6 Missandei: All rests on her trotting away. When she gets it right, she’s pretty good. But when she’s in a bad mood it’s tough.
9 Dream About Me: The best mare in Australasia. Tough draw but her class edge over some of her rivals here should see her able to dominate her way to success.
6 Elle Mac: Reunites with the driver who was on board for early Group Race success. Huge win last time and wouldn’t be out of place in rich mares race in Aussie at the moment. Main danger.
4 Mossdale Rose: Not bad last week but think they might burn the gate tonight to try and get across them. That puts her in contention for a top four spot for sure.
2 Dibaba: Overcame the tough draw last week to run a bold third. Good draw today so must be a good chance again.
3 Thunderfromthethrone: Unbeaten in all public runs and looks a horse with a big future. Would expect a bold debut tonight for sure.
10 Ohoka Achilles: Ran on strongly last week to finish in third position. Tricky draw here but might not get the worst run.
7 Prosecution Witness: Blair Orange chooses this one over well-drawn stablemate. Good run last time out and shouldn’t be far away here.
5 Georgia’s Baron: Wasn’t far away fresh up at Motukarara. Won’t take long to win a maiden and gets a good chance to just that tonight.
BEST: 8 I’ve Already Told You (Race 6)
NEXT: 11 Majestic Hurricane (Race 5)
VALUE: 5 Monrika (Race 2)
