#10 Fun In The Dark: Bounced back to form with a good second at Forbury. Should pick up a pretty nice trip here from the inside of the second line and has the upside to sneak past them up the passing lane if the opportunity presents itself.
#1 Runcle: One half of a history winning victory at Motukarara last time out. Drawn perfectly in the pole position and should be able to jump out and grab a forward position and give them plenty to chase.
#12 Trailer Park Girl: Always a chance in races like this, but more like good place fodder than a strong winning option. Will follow the speed and look to get over the top of them late.
#8 Queen Of Glory: The other half of the history making win at Motukarara. Seems tougher than normal lately after usually only being capable of a very short sprint. Won’t shirk the challenge here and can give them a fright.
#4 Doff Your Cap: Best talent in the race, but manners are still a big question mark at this stage in the career. Mobile should be a big assist and a complete trotting performance will end with success.
#8 Kowhai Sundown: Fresh up run was full of merit after an early gallop. Mobile will get the feet going right early and has to be at least a good place chance.
#10 Flyin Mandy: Big run last time out and seems to be getting stronger with more racing. Will settle off the speed and then look to get home late and can fill a top four spot.
#1 Ethereal: Fresh up for master trotting trainer. Nice recent Methven trial and a good draw to work from so has to be considered.
#1 Stick Man: Spotted putting in some pretty telling strides late in the piece last time out to finish fourth. Should enjoy this drop in grade and can win from a good draw.
#3 Filly Milly Mac: Speed horse who seems best when saved for just the one run at them. Small field should aid the chances here and if she’s close enough she can run them down.
#8 Sails: No real form to speak of, but does go some great races at times. This kind of field might see the best foot going forward and a winning chance if on song.
#4 Jonty James: A good honest toiler who looks well suited to this line up. Should be running home strongly and trying to out tough them when the burners go on.
#2 Darryl Kerrigan: All at sea in the tricky conditions at Orari. Better suited here and take a strong line from the impressive trial winning effort. One for a good each way price, but a winning hope.
#5 Dadndave: In good form at the moment and should be able to make his presence felt in this race. Just seems to find one or two better most times, but always a hope.
#1 Eastwood Ideal: Two good runs to open the career and workout and trial form leading into tonight has been very good. Can sneak a place.
#12 Georgie Zukov: Impressive finishing burst to grab second last time out. Clearly a horse who can win races. Perhaps starting tonight.
#12 Christian Who: Not much has gone right in the two runs back from a spell but the workout and trial performances have suggested a win is close at hand. Hot speed and it’s all on tonight.
#7 Stately: Has taken on fields much stronger than this recently and gets the services of her regular driver. Can make her own luck and win.
#4 Smoke N Reactor: Under-rated wee pacer who won’t mind tonight’s assignment. Can be lethal with one cold shot at them and that might be the tactics here.
#6 Tall Poppy: Knocking on the door, but just can’t quite get someone to answer it. Junior race should suit and is just one of many chances in the field.
#13 Majestic Hurricane: Massive run after an early gallop last time out, but the mobile should help with that. Can work around them and run them into the dirt.
#7 Scarlett Banner: Class trotter who things haven’t quite gone right for over the past few weeks. Her best would just about win this and she’s a strong each way hope.
#8 Il Pirata: Drops down in grade after taking on strong fields in last two starts. Trotting boldly and won’t mind tonight’s assignment especially if the speed is on.
#3 Beg Hall: Huge run fresh up at The Mot. Natural improvement suggests that another big showing is on the cards tonight.
#1 Pembrook Legacy: Broke when looking likely last time out at Oamaru. Fitness levels should be at peak by now and can win this off the inside barrier draw.
#8 Rock On: Handled the rise in grade after impressive win quite nicely last time out. Not a deep field so has to be worth a really good look in tonight’s line up.
#10 I’ve Already Told You: Clearly plenty to work with judging by impressive maiden victory. This is obviously harder but looks big and robust and can make the presence felt.
#6 Ideologist: Good run at Methven for third when getting things back on track. Small field tonight suits and has to be given a strong winning hope.
#5 Doctor Tim: Stuck on bravely after doing plenty of early work last time out. Small field and not as strong means the doctor might be in the money this evening.
#8 Sezana: No shame in running second to Wainui Creek. Filly on the up and and should give a huge account of herself in tonight’s assignment.
#7 Huey Lewis: In or out type, but gets a good chance tonight to be more in than he is out. Can pay a nice place dividend.
#4 Court On The Edge: So much better than what recent performances would suggest. Just needs to get back in the groove. Gets a chance here. Probably the last chance.
BEST: #13 Majestic Hurricane (Race 6)
NEXT: 1 Stick Man (Race 3)
VALUE: 2 Darryl Kerrigan (Race 4)
