ATC Trot 2012 Syndicate ready to rock at Jewels

The successful Auckland Trotting Club Syndicate is on target to have two Jewels contenders from one of its syndicates for the first time in its 16-year history.

The Rob Carr managed Syndicates have had three finalists since the Jewels concept was introduced in 2007, and this year it is likely that Major Star and Ideal Belle will fly the flag for the ATC 2012 Syndicate at Cambridge Raceway on May 31.

Dylan Ferguson gets $46 outsider up to win NI Country Cups Final

Dylan Ferguson achieved the biggest win of his career when he won the $25,000 North Island Country Cups Final at Hawera on Easter Monday.

The 17-year-old won the C3-Oc pace behind the Pat and Mike O’Brien trained outsider, Beckinsale. It was the 4-year-old mare’s eighth win from 50 career starts, and fourth this season.

Great Hawera Cup memories for Andrew Neal

 Andrew Neal fondly remembers Easter School holidays being spent travelling with his father Peter to the Hawera trots from their Marlborough home.

The Neals holidayed in the rural Taranaki town while racing on the Saturday and Monday. Although Neal Senior never won a Hawera Cup he had success and memorable times while competing in North Island grass track events.

Champion mare Adore Me has cleared all three hurdles that stood between her and a legitimate shot at New Zealand Cup glory.

The four-year-old gained revenge over her Auckland Cup conqueror Terror To Love when she led for the last 2400m to easily hold him out in the $100,000 Easter Cup at Addington on Saturday.
